REIS INSURANCE

For those of us (a growing number!) insured with REIS and going on track, I have this morning received this reply to my query about using one of my 4 inclusive trackdays at Japfest;

"We cannot book Japfest as any of your inclusive track day covers as it does not fall under any track day criteria.
We have been asked this question each year and unfortunately have had to give the same response each year.
If yourself or any other of the club members wish, they can ring us on 0115 985 0165 and ask for the on event department who can look at quoting as a one off basis."

So, that\'s a disappointment. The reason I asked was I did note that Japfest didn\'t exactly meet the REIS criteria for trackdays.

I have enquired as to the cost of the "on event" one-off cover and, for me and my car, it works out at £70.37, that is for £9000 cover, £900 excess. In fact, I fall into the  the "minimum premium" category for such an event    I\'ve decided to go for it anyway, it\'s just a little more than the £50 "extra" trackday premuim that I\'m bound to invoke later this year......

Just been quoted £111.00 from Reis.......not bad i thought.
 
the secret is that as i am doing 2 x 20 min sessions they have done it as seperate rather than a half day or full day sesh.
 
Asked if there was a discount for club members but the computer said NO!!!!!
 
but at least i have it sorted.
 
Do I take it that we have to take our insurance docs and driving licence info to the event.??

Insurance is not compulsory, so no need to take it along to show to officials, but wise to take it in case of incident (hopefully not!). Yes, you MUST take your driving license along to present when "signing on".
