alright guys, had the FD for 3-4 years now, biting the bullet, looking at replacing the hosing + check valves. anyone know what the operating pressures are of the stock check valves? think viton is the way to go but not sure which valves to purchase :Hammer

While on the subject, what about the 2 restrictor pills? Do people just reuse them, or does anyone know the spec for replacement ones?

JohnP

agreed, i heard u just transfer them into the new lines. if i get really down and dirty i\'ll photograph the lot while i\'m at it if it helps anyone?

JohnP

hi mate, i\'m on queensway, and i\'m pretty sure i\'ve seen your car floating about. good to see another local rotary!  Should meet up some time ;)

adib

sounds good im on brickhill just minutes away from you. my cars off road at mo boiled over twice in a week and would not start next day :reallymad

JohnP

thats pretty grim.. i thought i\'d detonated earlier this week only to find the vac hose to the boost sensor had come off *sigh*

any ideas whats causing you grief? do u have an airlock in the system? coolant flush recently? can the pressure caps cause issues with this?

FD Dave

where are you buying the hosing from to change it all over?

JohnP

i\'ve got loads of 4 + 5mm ID hosing i got from santapod already which i\'m hoping wil be suitable for the job :)

adib

think ive got air getting some where and thats y it over heated but can not see the rad or pipes so got to take intercooler out to see whats going on, thats if i get it started

JohnP

i pressume theres still coolant in it? mine developed a habit of dropping its coolant about 3 mins after i\'d switched off and walked away from the car once the heat soak really built up.

if your coolant level sense has popped you wouldnt know either..

adib

weather being good on sunday ill be having a look at it

JohnP

how\'d it go mate?
