OK, just over 6 weeks to go, so time to start some organising for this trackday :D  :D . I\'ll be posting up a parallel thread on the RX8OC forum and anyone with any rotary powered car is most welcome to join in the fun.

Details of the event can be found ON THIS LINK

Don\'t worry if you\'ve never been on track before (there\'s a first time for everything!). The days are safe, well managed and there\'s plenty of help and advice on hand to make sure you enjoy the day. You wil be amazed at how good the RX-8 is on track - the grin you will get when you realise just how fast you can take corners is guaranteed. Then, if you opt for some tuition and let a pro drive your car for a couple of laps, you\'ll realise you were just exercising 75% of the car\'s capability! All you need is a roadworthy car, a full driver\'s licence and a helmet (the latter can be hired on the day for ~£10)

Further details and booking your trackday place can be found by clicking HERE. I\'m using the MRC shop to collect payments to simplify getting payments to Mazda on Track, who we will be booking through for this event.

Please note that our partners, Mazda on Track, have not been able to secure exclusive use of the track and so places might sell out well before the day, so please book early or you might be disappointed...

Cost for track participants is £164, but anyone who is a a FULL MRC member (not guests) pay the "Members Rate" of £144 through the shop. In addition, Full Members of the RX8OC ought to be able to claim back some costs in accordance with the policy agreed at this year\'s AGM. Further details later on this....

OK, I\'ll maintain the following list IN THIS POST at the START of this thread, So anyone interested just needs to post up and I\'ll edit this "master list" - saving duplicating the list over and over  :D

Accommodation. Some of us will want to stay overnight before the event to get a fresh start. As last year I\'ll be staying at the Beaumont Hotel at nearby Louth, details HERE. Rooms are from £45, inc a hearty english breakfast. Nick and Tina run this family owned hotel and looked after us well for a couple of years now. If you want to book a room at the Beaumont then either phone direct on 01507 605 005, or email tina@terracerestaurant.co.uk (please mention you are one of the "Rotary Group" when booking). For those on a budget, there are a few twin rooms available at £30/head (sharing), inc breakfast - a bargain. First come, first served, so be quick, as there are only a limited number of rooms. There is plenty of off-road secure parking there too!

From previous experience, I\'ll be staying TWO nights, so I don\'t have to rush back after the event. If you feel the same, book in for two nights too!

Trackday Insurance. If you need any advice, then please ask away...

Anything else, ask away.... (but bear in mind I\'m away most of this weekend, 22-25 April, so please be patient!)

^^Keith, this is a VERY popular event on a fantastic circuit - arguably the best in the UK. Based on previous years, I\'d expect anything between 12-20 rotaries this year at Cadwell. All you need to do to secure your place is follow the link to the club shop and pay up.

We\'ve got 20 guaranteed places reserved at the moment, but I will have to give up unsold places on May 7th and cannot guarantee places after that date.

If you have any questions at all, just post up here.

I hope you can join us for a fun day out :D

Hi Guys. Im sad to say I won\'t be doing this event this year :( The way my financial state is at the moment I just can\'t justify spending money on a track day. New mortgage and my 2nd child being born have to be a priority for me atm. I am hoping to get to the event still though to cheer/abuse all of you as you go round, and perhaps grab a passenger ride or two. I\'ll also bring my camera for the day too.

^^Ditto here Adrian. Be great to see you there, and I understand the financial pressures at the moment. It\'s going to be a tough year ahead for a lot of people :(

Whats the chances of a mate of mine tacking his skyline to this? He\'s interested in doing his first track day and this would be ideal. Would it be a case of members first but if there are spaces left he\'d be ok?

Ade, not problem. Best he books via the Mazda on Track website or The Circuitdays website. That way he won\'t eat into our reserved allocation. He\'s more than welcome, even if he has poor taste in cars (sorry, wanted to insert emoticon here, but smartphone won\'t let me!)

No problem I\'m always ripping him about his poor choice of car. Although His Skybus is one of a kind and he built it from the ground up himself and its pushing close to 500bhp. I\'ll let him know.
