Done a search, got nothing, I have a cone filter just laying around, I\'m just wondering how you bypass the air flow meter under the stock air box, I\'m pretty sure it won\'t run properly without it... So how do you do it?

Don\'t bypass it, just run the cone on the fresh air side of the Air Flow Meter

The problem is, the filter is round, whereas the afm is rectangular...

I think with EGIs its best to run a drop in panel filter, if running a cone filter its best to have a cold air feed to it so you don\'t suck in warm engine bay air, unless your have an RE-A filter like on my FC that basically takes up SOOOO much space and the rear of the filter acts like a divider :D

You got any pics of the setup m1tch?

6 tonnes of stock plastic air intake is where it\'s at ;)

Also, by the looks you have a T-II bonnet on your EGI same as I do, get good at fabricating and turn the top scoop into a filtered CAI :D

How would I go about doing that...?

Well you currently have air flow (i\'m assuming) that directs air to your filter, what you should get is something similar to a TMIC that works as a CAI feed from the scoop, I\'m sure theres something on the market that would do the job!

So basically, run a pipe from a collector below the scoop to the front where the air intake is... Seems a bit of a false economy, you\'d just be directing cold air over the warm engine, I thought that was the case for FMIC over TMIC, I should think it would BR better to run a scoop from the ducting on the front of the bumper into the air intake area...

But then again, that would be pretty pointless with the stock boxes seeing as there is already a cold air feed there, unless you feed it into the existing plastic...

What I meant was do some fabrication work so you make something that sits in the recess of the scoop and connects to a filtered air feed, so the air going into it is all pulled in from the scoop and outside and not over the top of the engine. Like the old Challenger Hemi\'s do where the bonnet has a hole and the air intake sits proud, but have something similar fitted into the scoop, so when you shut the bonnet, the custom intake sits perfectly inside the scoop and cuts off as little hot engine air as possible.

I think I see what you mean... Almost like running carbs, so there is the filter sitting in the recess of the scoop with a tube running almost directly into the UIM?

Pretty much! Like the RE-A kits do where they have a surround that cuts off as much hot air as possible from the engine, you\'re looking to make a similar blanking plate that fits the inside of the bonnet on the bottom that the air filter or intake sits on top of, so all the cold air pulled in whilst driving and stand still is taken directly from outside of the scoop, and the blanking plate or fabricated surround that sits neatly inside the recess for the scoop fits well enough that it cuts out the vast majority of engine heat. For those with a bonnet scoop like me and you that don\'t have a TMIC since we\'re EGI\'s, especially when driving is an awesome cold air solution, just make sure it\'s filtered or meshed at some point in the system since it\'s coming directly into the scoop.
