First, I take full responsibility for being stupid.

The bottle seal came off the bottle and got poured into the engine with the oil. Did it go straight to the sump? I\'m hoping that I can drain the oil, remove the pan, and find it there... sound right?

It hasn\'t been run at all since this happened, I\'m sure running the engine is a bad idea.

Tough one to answer,

Chances are it won\'t do any harm as it won\'t get sucked into an oil way or anything but depending on the size of the seal "potentialy" it could cause starvation by being sucked onto the oil pickup pipe.

Oviously the best way would be to pull the sump off, but try and drain the  oil and have a fish around in through the sump plug drain hole with a piece of wire with a hook on it.
All the best Clive

Is it on an FD? If you\'re really lucky it may have got stuck in the filler neck as there\'s a right angle/chamber type thing in it..
It\'s removable with 2 m6 bolts, but it\'s yonks since I\'ve had all the gubbins around it in palce, so I\'m buggered if I can remember how easy it is to get to on a stock ish car, sorry :(

I\'d be a bit worried about it getting stuck to the strainer :(

Hey guys, thanks for all of your replys.

Ok, so I solved the problem the day after my mistake, here\'s how it went down...

Just so you know, I never started the engine until the problem was solved.

So what I did first, is I pulled the oil pan, thinking that the seal had made it\'s way there. However, after pulling the pan and inspecting it, I did not find the seal anywhere in it. So then, because I was actually considering driving the car the next day, I reinstalled the pan to the motor.:Nono! Then I talked to my buddy, pro formula mazda race car mechanic, and learned about the oil pickup lines and how they could become potentially blocked... not good. The next morning, a day after the mistake happened, I pulled the upper intake manifold and seperated the oil filler neck at the motor block seam... THERE IT WAS!!!:2eek The seal was barely hanging on to a very slight ledge at the seam of the filler neck and motor. So what did I do next??.. I got some handy safety wire, bent it about some, and began to maneuver it ever-so-gently underneath the seal to flick it outta there. Just as the seal was about to be lifted up and outta there, the little ....... slipped back and fell down the oil chute and INTO THE PAN!:Hammer Pulled the pan AGAIN, got the seal out and set that ....... on fire!!:flamed Put everything back together and she was good to go.

A few lessons learned here, you know what they be.

Hope y\'all enjoyed the vision, and thanks again for the help.

Cheers!:cheers
