Just wondering how you adjust and align(?) the CAS.

Reason for asking is the sudden brisk power loss i had was apparently wrong crank angle.
but seems bit strange as the tuner said before when he too it out there was no probs, then when i went to take for a spin it happened.
porkies are around somewhere.

CAS timing is achieved by just rotating the CAS unit.  It can only move a bit either way, but it should be set using the pulley timing marks and little needle on the front cover - with no electrical loads and idle under 1000 rpm.  Then lock it off (10mm nut) and forget it !

First timing mark should align when the pickup is on the L1 coil pack lead.

cheers prof. sounds simple.
would this explain the power loss?

It might lose a bit, but not masses - would feel like it had the brakes on slightly if it was retarded, and would be slightly slower to build boost - if it was advanced then it would feel a bit more peppy up to a point. It doesn\'t adjust by much - you can see the slot that the retaining bolt slides in - there\'s only a couple of degrees if that in the adjustment.

It\'s a good idea to set it right with the timing light and leave it - you\'ve a programmable ECU, and the mapper will have assumed the timing based on this CAS being set right.

cheers prof :)
as assuming the mapper thought the cas was right then if the cas is wrong then the map would be wrong if the cas is adjusted after mapping?
