David,

As much as I agree with you about not building the lines yourself, our lines are still not using swaged ends...but more reusable ends.  When done correctly these are just as good as the crimped versions....they seal perfectly, and are made to the correct lengths.  The ends will swivel so you don\'t have to guess at how many times you need to wind the hose in the opposite direction so that the line isn\'t kinked.

Along with other road car kits we have made, we use these in our own race cars...where the braking forces are a lot higher than any road car.

Sorry, Fine I didn\'t realise that. But you\'ve also made the point that you know what you\'re doing.
We are also agreed I think....Flexes need to be professionally made up.

Quote from: rossonza;685461Looking into making my own braided brake lines. Does anyone know the sizes of the hoses and unions? My cars stored 30 minutes away so can\'t measure at the moment and would like to order parts for the weekend.

Thanks
Ross

What did you do in the end, Ross?

Ross didn\'t!

He got distracted by sorting the rust out, then realised he was a bit out of his depth with how much rust there was to do, and sold the car to me!

I\'m pretty sure I shall be buying my flexi lines from Jon at Atomic Rex, just waiting for a quote on them and a whole bunch of other bits right now :)

AN03 I believe is what all of Prof\'s braided lines in his car are, but I sit to be corrected.

Brake Pressure lines are AN03 or M10, the supply lines are AN04

Nope - tis correct, and fittings are 10mm - but I bought ready made flexi lines - I\'d do the copper lines - as I have the flaring tool - but brakes are one area where pressures are much higher - and mistakes can\'t be made.

As Atomic already mentioned - getting the proper fittings yourself to make your own wouldn\'t really work out cheaper in one\'s or two\'s quantities.
