Thanks for all the replies everyone,

after thinking about this more i think that a half bridge is the way to go, i managed to find the spec of the car that i was taken out in and it turns out its not a full bridgeport but a half bridge so now it will be a half bridge,

say if i got the turbos reconditioned and then get them ported im guessing this would allow them to last longer, im not looking at running them for 15000 miles or anything daft like that just want them to last long enough for me to save up enough funds for a turbo kit so that all it needs is to be bolted on with manifold etc and then get mapped.

on a side note roughly how much would it cost to get the turbos reconditioned?

Cheers

At least a grand I expect. Not something to be done unless you really love the twins.

I think the OEM twins would probably be fully spooled on idle lol im fitting a T88 to the BP engine, you might get away with extended streetports

dthebuk

maybe its worth tracking down the the guy on driftworks who drifted his bp\'d engine on twins? If his lasted a good few k\'s under load on the limiter maybe there\'s no need to get yours reconned. As its a weekend car you may find it much more benifitial to drive them untill they die, and they just slap some more used ones in there. They can\'t be worth that much can they?

im just trying to contact the guy that had a halfbridge on non sequentials to see what problems he encountered and the life of the turbos

Ok quick update on this, iv spoken to a guy called phil who had a drift rxwhich was running pretty much the same set up that im looking at

He run the stock twins which only had the exhaust ports ported and the wastegate was untouched, it was run a 0.8 bar for 3 years and took pretty much constant abuse at the red line and they never blew up on him, the heat didnt cause to much problems for the turbos and was running 400bhp

so this has made me more confident about the setup

any questions please ask
