Having jacked up my FB yesterday for the first time since purchasing did not reveal a good sight. It would appear it will require all new discs and pads. Also every rubber bush looked perished so will need replacing. Just wondering if any of you experts can recommend where I can buy the above items cheaply if possible?
:xconfused

for bushes, polybushes are the way to go and the cheapest I\'ve found are imported from ReSpeed in the USA.... they take a few weeks to arrive but even after paying a bit of import duty they were only £140 delivered. You can get similar bushes in the UK delivered next day  but they\'re over £200...
so cheaper and a bit of a wait or get them straight away and pay the price....
personal choice!

I\'m having my discs skimmed because replacements were too pricey but some of the guys have bought new discs for decent prices... I think Dibs and John have bought some and might be able to point you in the right direction Paul... good luck with it!

Hi Os, the front discs I got are no longer available as I bought mine a couple of years ago, as for the rears I cleaned all the surface rust off with a wire brush attachment in the drill.

Hi there.

Yes, I just put new disks and pads on Miss January (She is an S2)

I work for Unipart, so I just went to my local Unipart Automotive motor parts branch and ordered them..... Just to get the advertising in, we are the largest "service parts" supplier in the UK with 187 branches. Normally we supply the trade (independant garages and the AA and RAC.... and also Quickfit and until a few weeks ago Halfords but I don\'t like to admit about that...) but you don\'t need an account or anything - they all have sales counters and we will take money off anyone....
Not all parts are on the current computer system or even in stock at our Cowley warehouse, but we have loads of specialist suppliers behind the scenes and links to most manufacturers "Classic" parts systems and can get most stuff in 2 days. (one day to get it into Cowley, one day to get it out to the branch).
The trouble is (as with most things) that it depends on the attitude and ability of the guy behind the counter. When asking for esoteric parts for 30 year old cars, some are a dead loss but others (normally the old-timers...) treat the whole thing as a challenge and dive into the cross reference catalogs with genuine exitement.
There is also the issue of price... There is no Manufacturers Recommended Price for this old stuff, and the branches get bonuses on how much profit they make.... So the guy behind the counter can decide to give it to you for cost plus 10% (which I promise you will make e-bay look expensive) or he will "make it worth his while" and add £50 to a wheel bearing (just to be clear most wheel bearings cost us £3 or £4...) just because he knows you can\'t find one anywhere else.
Front Disks for my S2 were £64.70 (inc. Vat) and Pads £17, wheel bearings £12 (though it turned out the originals were OK so we used them and took the new ones back...) and HT coils for £11 each..
Finally, Uniparts "supplier" for most old jabpanese parts is a company called "Blue Print ADL" who were originally a management buy out of a section of the Mazda parts organisation about 20 years ago. They have their own website (www.blueprint-adl.co.uk). They mostly supply trade, but they have an amazingly wide parts list so I suggest you give them a go....

Good point dibs dates are correct for S3,but says 5 studs?
I tried getting into Blueprint site, but you have to be trade.

Funnily enough,i found quite a few S1 brake parts for a lot less than S3 parts, despite S1,s being virtually extinct in UK.

Also saw fully refurbished calipers for approx £45,not really worth rebuilding old calipers for that price.

A7RXY

I also tried to get into Blueprint site, I\'m trying to get hold of front wheel bearings, as when I get around to changing my front discs I\'ll change those aswell.

syebba

Wonder what mazda would charge for front wheel bearings,i can\'t find them on the net apart from US

A7RXY

I think Rotaryart do them but they look to be really dear, maybe Johnboy could lets us know.

syebba

Found front wheel bearings for S2 in uk approx £25 each, but S3 nope.
