Guys,
I\'ve been contacted today by a chap called Ian from Herts who is looking for a buyer for his fathers 1982 Elford Turbo.
He took it yesterday to his local Mazda dealer to see if they would part ex it for something newer for his dad... you can guess the response he had!
His dad wants to sell it sooner rather than later and is minded to just take it to the dealer and get whatever he can for it.... Ian however would rather the car go to an enthusiast who will appreaciate it for what it is.

The car is taxed and tested and has just had 4 new tyres and a battery.
It is described as having 84k miles on the clock, minor rust here and there and apparently \'goes like a rocket\'!

I suggested ( bearing in mind I haven\'t personally seen the car ) that it should achieve £1500 - £2000 given its a road going Elford although I think they are open to sensible offers.

I\'m hoping the speak to Ian later and get a few more details. I do have his email and phone number but want to check that he\'s happy for me to post them on here before I do so. If anyone wants to contact him about the car in the meantime, please pm me or email me at ian08 at sky dot com. and I\'ll give you his number.

(The reg, Dave, is DBM 50X..... registered 23/07/1982)

Anyone fancy  joining the Elford club with John and myself?!

I think I\'d actually sell the FC to buy that. Not sure what it is but just recently the FB\'s have been getting more and more attractive. Good luck with the sale. Hope it finds a goode home.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Looks to be a very smart car.
Maybe a glass moonroof too?
For a quick sale £1.5>£2k in present climate is about right, probably a lot more than he\'d be offered part exchange.

Stick my neck out,in a good boom type market i\'d say £3.5k plus subject to condition, but those days appear a long way off.

Ian do you know if it is an original elford or just the kit, as I thought they all had the elford wheels on them.

First, that is one very good looking car... side skirts as well!!! Very desirable... (but then I am biased...)

Second, the Elfords were done/sold on a "menu" approach. You could have whatever combo of custom features you fancied. So entirely possible to have turbo and bodykit without pepperpot wheels.
(eg. Miss January has Turbo, front and rear spoilers and wheels but no side skirts)

Did Elford do a rear valence spoiler too?

It just so happens that I know a bloke with a spare set of elford wheels ;)

Corret me if I\'m wrong but aren\'t those TWR skirts only I have a set of Elford skirts which, (I am in the process of packaging up for you Ian I promise) and they look nothing like those. I have just purchased some TWR\'s from Marcos and they look identical.
