Quote from: TiddlesRX7;742554Just thought I\'d put up a post as I\'ve been out for a late night drive tonight :) And guess what.... when I pulled up outside my house I noticed my FC was 1/2 a mile or so off 100,000 miles. Not bad for a 21 year old I reckon.

So my question is, How many miles has your FC done people?

Still driving as good as ever Ade?

TiddlesRX7

Yeah. Although she\'s a bit of a harder ride since you had her. And she could do with the full set of poly bushes I have installing aswell as the DTSS bushes you gave me.

Quote from: grinder;743364if you look thru the history - im sure it was around the 50-70 mark - and it was a NEW engine .. not a rebuild ;)

Yeah ive looked through the massive pile of history but couldnt find any details on an engine build or swap.

So the engine was completely swapped out for another new one then? Theres fresh sealant around the oil feed to the turbo and around the sump pan so i assumed she was rebuilt? :)

when i bought it - the car was fully maintained by mazda , it died at xx,xxx milage - cause it was bought from them at 3 yrs old - he paid something like £199 a year for a FULL warranty that covered EVERYTHING and he paid that until he sold it

and basically cause its mazda - they put a new engine in it ( from a crate )

well thats what the guy told me

i got ALL the service history printed and sent to me ( green and white paper if you have it ) - but the garage that did the engine is was no longer in business - so i couldnt get the other half from them

looks like the FC\'s engines tend to last a good bit longer than the average FD, or is it just that the few FC\'s that are left are better cared for?

TiddlesRX7

No I think they do as a rule of thumb. Not by loads and loads though. Like anything though take care of it and it will last longer than if you abuse it. You do hear stories of the FC engines lasting well into the 100,000\'s without a rebuild. I\'d like to get mine compression tested TBH just to see how it is. It doesn\'t seem to be any different to when I got it off you. Still starts on the button hot or cold. Fingers crossed it\'ll stay like that for a long time. Think its around 35,000 into the rebuild now.
