Finally got my rebuild fund :D

What have most of you guys done (bearing in mind my mileage is pretty close to 60k. Do i bite the bullet and have the work done even tho the car doesnt need it as yet or do i wait till she stops workin and run the risk of having to get it transported?

Your thoughts/experiences would be welcomed.

Also Jimmys Rx7 Specialists are about the closest garage to me for the rebuild. Anyone had theres done there?

Any comments welcomed.

I had mine done before it needed it, on the basis that if all is working well I should need less bits replaced. But this is not always the case.

That was kinda my train of thought, damage limitation (wallet wise)

would around 60k be about the time a rebuild should be done even if the car is running ok. i\'ve bought one from japan it arrives next week. its done 50k and was also thinking when rebuild time should be.

That was my thinking when I had mine done - it was showing signs but not dead yet.  cost a packet in the end though!

Best bet with newly imported cars is to get a compression check done. This gives a good indication of how well the engine is.

I plan to do that. I believe D&S or DS do it. Beside Shy Auto so i am gonna check it out in the next week or so
