Was awesome! lol

Been told by quite a few people that the fc is a hard car to drift, and they werent wrong.

Very good day at teesside, managed to do quite well being my first drift day, and the car didnt let me down in th 80 odd laps that I did, apart from shedding its front bumper on the second lap, lol

Two main issues, needs more lock, and understeers like a ....., lol

Some pics

Needs more lock

dthebuk

what lock mods have you got at the minute mate? Just rack spacers?

Tbh looking at that set up you could do with a bit more camber, maybe slightly less castor which should help with the understeer. Obviously you\'ll need good tires at the front to make a difference.

If you\'re planning to do down the modified hub route give us a shout. Currently putting some suspension set ups into Pro engineer which allow me to work decent alignment settings for things likes modded hubs etc. You\'ll just need to find someone to physically do it

edit: forgot to mention; looks awesome! good work!

i dont think lock is your main issue as i drifted mine on standard lock for two rdift days without incedent the only thing more lock will allow you to do is go faster and harder with more angle it wont help you hold a drift any better than you can already (not trying to be negative tho mate)

are you running a welder as i found that i had really bad understeer and wiyth extra camber and slightly higer rear tire pressures this really helped my turn in but just initiate harder although im the first to admit since fitting my hydro i have started to hang on the wand too much

but its good to see you out skidding hopefully we can twin in the fcs some time as ill prob come too teeside soon as i pick up my new fc on monday or your more than welcome to come to crail in march its a brilliant day with mega amounts of seat time high speed 3rd/4th corners and slower 2nd gear sections and the runoff is huge should you get all outa shape

NeilSR

As far as Im aware its just running standard lock at the moment cos I havent made any changes to the setup yet, notice I said yet, lol

I thyink some corners I was going in too hard, so therefore the extra lock may help that

the hat

well im kinda out of opinions as i just try my best to make my setup work but i just drive the car constant rather than keep fiddling with things as once your used to it nothing ever feels rfight

NeilSR

Lol, well its only my first time drifting, so nothing feels right at the moment, especially letting go of the steering wheel at 50-60mph whilst sideways, lol

Nice one!!

When i did my first drift day with the FC few months ago, i got the same thought as you.
The FC definitely need some lock! the stock is around 35 degrees and the stock S13 is 45 already. The S13 is idotproof to drift with really as i used to drift the nissan A31 in NZ, but the FC is very snappy due to the suspension design is for the grip driving.

I\'m going to put DTSS eliminator, rack spacer and the steering lock + anti bump tie rod end kit from mazdatrix in a few weeks and off to my next drift day and see how it goes :)

i guaruntee you it goes better but really its your fault your spinning not the car yes it may be harder but thats part of learning you will need to gain more control before you start going for more angle

ive decided that because fcs have less angle than an s13 people instantly blame this for being the reason they spin so much learn to control it now and life will be easy with the extra lock

the hat

oh nd neil all i can say is seat time mate it makes all the difference no amount of new parts and conversations with other people will make you awesome but agreed it does feel weird letting go of the wheel at first but soon enough you wont even realise your doing it

Good on you Neil, great to see a Gen 2 out there "at it"

Thought this Pic was excellent, just like those first pics we saw come out of Japan well before Drift spread across the world :Thumbs-up
All the best Clive

Cheers clive, got plenty of pics, had 2 of my friends there who are excellent photographers, lol

well at least I didnt blame because of me spinning out, i blame because i cannot do huge angles with the stock lock. I\'m sure i have enough experience to distinguish between them :) .

BTW Neil, where about do you live? I havn\'t seen much (or any lol) FC around my area, I guess would look good to have another FC with BGW to drift with :3gears-lh

i never wanted anyone to take any statements personally it was a general statement and more lock can never be a bad thing unless your a nissan and you overcentre

and i must say you have an a31 you got any pics i just sold mine so i now just have the r33 and two fcs but i may get a soarer soon

so any fc owners fancy the crail drift day

yiug412

only got this when it\'s in progress.

lol yes never say no to big lock really

I was gona get an A31 when i first came to UK!!!! couldnt find one, then try to find a R32 then a FC came up and now it\'s mine XD

I always have a thot of changing back to A31 or JZX but the rotary powered is xtremely addictive!

damn Crail is 6 hours drive from me.
