I have recently fitted a air pump blanking kit to my FD but im stuck with a pipe that I have no idea where it goes?? any ideas I think it might have gone to the original airbox as a breather or something but ive got HKS intakes so no longer have hole to plug it up too.

To do this job properly you should have had a plate like the one in the picture below,

The pipe you see is marked with a red cross below and is to an air valve on the back of the lower intake manifold.

Hope this helps

ah ok yea i have that part, was wondering where it goes, so i take that whole unit of shown in the picture and blank it off?

That\'s correct. There is a solenoid attached to it which you have to keep if your staying with the twin turbos, watch out as it can be very fragile.

hi all doing this soon, so what do you do with the solenoid that is attached to it if you are still running twin

Its the one numbered 18-740B in Clive\'s pic, just make an L shaped bracket and mount it where it was.

One little trick to lessen the amount of stuff you need to take off is to undo the three 10mm spanner size nuts then I use a small pair of long nose mole grips to wind the long studs out of the manifold,

You can then lift the valve up and out rather than remove most of the stuff on top of the engine to then slide it off the studs,

When you come to do the job you will realise why I do this

Hope this helps

You dont actually need blanking plates for the air pump.

you can take the lim off and fill the little oblong hole will lots of exhaust putty and finish off with a layer of chemical metal. mine has been like this for 2 years. also you save 100grams and 40 quid lol

If the car is still on twins, I\'d much rather spend 40 quid than lose a day and a shedload of skin removing the LIM for the sake of a bodge! Wouldn\'t fancy bits of exhaust paste or chemical metal loosening and making their jolly way through my inlet ports.

But you save 100 grams. That\'s 1/10th what u save by polishing the plenum!!!!
