Got 2 gauges Im gonna attempt to fit tonight

Oil temp and water temp

Any advice on how or where to fit these as Ive never done anything like this before?  Anywhere that they should be specifically plumbed in to the fc

Oil temp - you are likely to need a sandwich plate adaptor for that.

Water temp - usually supplied as a unit that fits in the top hose?

Like prof said ^^^^^^
Then its a case of mounting the gauges themselves. I removed the middle air vent on mine and made a plate up to fit. You\'ve got a carbon console there iirc so should be easier for you if thats where your gonna put them. Then its just the wireing.

Given the location of where you have to mount the sensors, you should get away without having to drain oil/coolant too (There\'ll be a bit of leakage in the top rad hose, but nothing that can\'t be helped by topping up the expansion bottle after a couple of runs (the system is supposed to draw fluid back in if it\'s low).  Likewise the oil filter if removed from a cold engine, will not have too much oil in it - could always replace it if you want too.

On most of these cars, there are a couple of unused rubber bulkhead plugs that you can pass wiring through, if you don\'t fancy dragging it through with the existing wiring loom :Hammer- I found the tool I used to rewire the house - a thick nylon cord with brass eyes attached - is ideal for wire routing as it\'s slighly flexible but does keep it\'s shape and doesn\'t go off down the bulkhead never to be seen again :2Rolleyes

Or do the same as me and fit them in your glovebox lid. (the senders routers etc mentioned above applies of course)

Personally I want to move my water temp across to by the dash though so I can PROPERLY keep an eye on it.

Hmmmm lol

Forgot about that! Or not...

How do your passengers manage for leg room with that down all the time btw?

As per my other post - I recommend mounting the water gauge as much into close/easy view as possible. I\'m tempted to buy Pete\'s dash replacement with 2 gauge holders built in. My boost gauge is on the right of the dash, and I\'m mount the water temp on the left.

I\'d vote against putting them in a pillar pod. they just get in the way. Probably fine for track driving, i just remember mine ....ing me off on the road

How did you calibrate it?  It will obviously run several degrees colder sitting in that nice oil bath than it would if it was poking into the block.

Gauages should be kept at a place as easy to view as possible. IMO the best bit will be on top of the centre console with low stands. but it will be blocking the view on the warning lights if that matters you. the other option will be on the carbon plate you got there, but you will be looking down a bit so when you are on the road and checking out the gauages that will put your focus off the road.

btw nice audio set up there! i got a 12inch powerplant sub by fusion ( NZ brand:) ) im selling if you are interested.

I have gauges/screen on there, the only error light I have on is the ABS, the most worrying signal is the coolent buzzer, which is a noise, rather than a light, which means it can\'t be blocked by guages :D
