i`ve heard that one has rust issues going by a thread on another forum.. once again i have no first hand experience of this. just from another forum member lookin for a good rex like yourself didnt buy it for this apparent reason

Wotcher, welcome to the club and all that
Quote from: monkfish;738406my 34 does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and does 0-100 in 13.1 what are the times for a stock rx7 as i see differeing comments on the net so im not exactly sure.
IIRC Mazda claimed something like 5.6 seconds o-60 for a stock FD. A lightly modded one will be faster, evidently.
Quote from: monkfish;738406also how much do they weigh as i hear the spirit r version weighs around 1200kg but others are between 1280-1310kg. my r34 weighs 1410kg so not miles away.
Not miles away!? That\'s like two and a bit fat passengers! :rollin

The speed of an FD and that of a Skybus are two totally different things, and I always think it\'s a bit of a mistake to compare them in just pure numbers. An RX-7 will be involving, alive, visceral and exiting to drive. A Skylard, even one exactly as fast or faster will seem sterile and unexciting in comparison. Just doooooo it :D

Are you the Monkfish of Fast Show, fame, just out of interest? Y\'know, "get yer knickers on and make me a cup of tea"? I\'m a massive fan if so :Thumbs-up

Carbon RX

Im still to weigh mine yet as not quite finished but would like to think i removed the contents of a macdonalds worth of weight to mine.

Wings will be the last touch! :3gears-lh

thats inspector monkfish to you :rollincrikey i had to youtube that to see what it was that was a while back......i did see it but never would have remembeed that ha ha.

cheers for the welcome.

although im encouraged with the all the good descriptions of the rx7\'s handling i do have  to mention that the skyline to me anyway is not a dull unweildly beasty is actually quite nimble and ive owned mr2\'s and ftos so its not bad at all. However i get what you mean in that it is heavier and larger to manouvre.
the weight thing was that when i looked online it stated the rx7 in all but the spirit r forms were 1280 kgs in weight which is 120kg less than my 34gtt so its not a huge ammount different as 100 - 120kg is no that heavy at all if your a tall chap. or into weightlifting  or just enjoy pies lol. ive compared times  with just me and with a passenger and the engines got a fair ammount of tourque and doesnt really alter much with either one or two people in the car

still its nice to hear  similar comments about how quick they are in stock form even.

im well keen to try one of these now.

also loving the carbon on your car carbon rx

As there was so much banter on weight i couldnt resist lol

I put my near standard type r2 on a weighbridge with very little fuel and it  was 1260kg.
