I need to get a gel battery for my rx7 but i really dont have a clue what I should be buying etc and what size etc i need for it. Anyone know exactly what id need for my car?

I have an Odyssey PC680 battery in mine. Not sure if that is a gel battery, but it is teeny-tiny, and has more than enough power to crank and RX7.

Think is was about £100 from Manbat.

Ive got a PC680 that i was going to sell only problem is that it\'s with the car at Atomic Rex but you could always sort something out with Jon posting it if he doesnt mind.

Forgot to add yes its a gel battery so can be mounted in the boot or rear bins. I was told that they dont normally hold charge for more than 5 days if you dont run the car often, most people drive theirs daily but im lucky if i drive mine once a week, hence why im getting a different battery.

The guy in Manbat reckoned the best thing was to put it on one of those \'smart\' chargers if you don\'t use it regularly. Which is what mine is doing at the moment.

so sorry just to confirm the pc680 is a gel battery??

PC680 is a great battery as long as you don\'t let it get drained. They really don\'t like being deeply discharged and will not last very long if they are constantly drained. If you get the PC680 you will need to buy the battery posts separately which screw into the top of the battery. Or you can convert your positive and negative leads to have ring terminals and bolt them to the battery.

Also if you don\'t use the car every day and its more of a weekend car, the easiest way to stop it from being drained is to disconnect the negative lead from the battery after your last journey of the weekend.
I know some people don\'t like having to re-do their stereo settings or disconnect and reconnect the battery lead, but I\'ve always found the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Only takes 30 secs as well.

Its a dry cell battery, sealed and no maintenance required. As its not a wet cell, it can be mounted on any side.

I\'d be interested in the 680, I\'m at Merlin tomorrow as well....
