hi people. i think ill throw a renesis engine into my rx4. problem is, its a side mount. has anyone does this conversion before?

please give me specific details.

also, as for gearboxes, would the series 4/5 rx7 13b turbo 5 speed bolt up? does anyone know? what about clutch issues? are there any mission tunnel issues ?

if i want to run standard computer )i want no more than the std. 189hp as i only have a 12a rx4 diff), how can this be done?

regards

First thing I would do is lower the engine into the bay and check the sump clears the steering, if O/K you will obviously need to fabricate mounts onto the chassis legs,

As the clutch spigiot and release bearing is the same so the TII gearbox should fit O/K , the axle will be fine with this level of tune but no matter what you do the gear leaver hole will be different as will the length of the prop shaft

Hope this helps
All the best Clive

thanks for your advice, if i use the series 5 turbo 5 speed, i can cut it shorter so the lever will fit through the original tunnel. no bid deal if i do have cut cut it a little anyway as the original console is not going back in but a fully customised show car quality dash and console are, which everything such as clinate control air conditioning, TV, navigation, CD/DVD player, split system, USB port etc.

i looked at the sump by photos and it looks quite small, so hope there is no trouble, as here in japan, no one can modify anything from original, and im no fabricator.

ive also made a series of videos on my vuild, over 20 videos to date !

just look for the rx-4 playlist

if i want to run the rx-8 computer with the rx-8 engine, in an rx-4, is it possible? as i wont be running other sensors like guages, abs etc...

I think you\'d be better off with an aftermarket ecu, the 8\'s ECU runs the ABS, DSC, aircon and emission controls as well as the motor.  Of the couple of cars I\'ve seen with 8 engines in run aftermarket ECUs for ease of management.  In fact they tend to liberate a few extra horses, particularly if they go with a decent tubular manifold.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!
