I\'m sure its been covered, but i\'ve used the search button both on here and on google (getting mixed reports on there and the us/jap spec mine field is doing my nut!)

So as titled, what are the stock BHP, 0-60, torque figures and weight etc etc etc, for the UK spec Turbo II\'s?

I\'m still fighting over saving for an FD or spending not so much and purchasing an FC >.<

Cheers in advance for any help.

Approx figures for the UK coupe:

200BHP (some sources say 202), Torque I think was 190 ftlb, 0-60 6.2 Secs  weight around 1260KG  (vert is 6.5 secs to 60 and 1420KG)

Cheers mate, any idea if top speed! I mean I\'ve just got to be 100% sure that a fc is going to be faster than my GTI lol!

Prof

The FC Vert does about 144 flat out - wind resistance ;) - I expect the coupe is probably a little bit quicker - book figure is an optimistic 150mph (for stock power level)

Oh decisions decisions, thanks for your help prof!

remember you can get a TII to 300bhp with a new intercooler, chipped ecu, zorst and wastegate spring or boost controller

But, and I\'d like honest opinions. If you could afford to run the fc or the fd? Without a biased fc opinion which would you buy? Honestly?

Prof

Well - I like open top motoring - so as the FC offers the only choice I can take - my mind is easy to make up.

Having driven both cars of similar power (well before Aceman pushed the boat out a bit more), I can say both cars have a similar feel, the FD has the edge on acceleration, but in terms of day to day road manners - the FC is an excellent car.  You\'re not going to be dissapointed either way if you get a well sorted car.

I\'m with the prof on the open top driving so it\'s an FC for me too.

You should also consider your "style" of driving - do you want to stand out and attract attention (which means rarely being able to floor it or you WILL get stopped by plod) or do you prefer the wolf in sheep\'s clothing approach (keep a low profile - so no wheelspins or loud noise - but just drive everywhere really quickly!).

All of them will break the typical speed limit in under 2.5 seconds - how much attention do you want to draw while doing so?

Ask yourself if you are buying it for yourself, or for what others will think of you?

The FC is a classic sports coupe shape (think Lotus (but not Elise!), DeLorean, FH E-Type) whereas the FD is a "look at me! look at me!" show-off (think Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus Elise).

Real men drive sports cars. Posers drive show-off motors.  ;)

For driving experience I\'d vote fd. They just feel like they\'ve been made to handle and go fast. They literally feel like they\'re on rails. Saying that, on paper the fc is pretty much the same car. It\'s got a nice twinscroll turbo which spools quickly and no problematic rats nest. If you give it breathing mods and chipped ecu they\'re reasonable on fuel. Had 30mpg on mine on a few occasions.

What\'s the car for? Daily I\'d go fc, track I\'d go fd. If there was a budget involved I\'d go fc. There have been a few clean big power fc\'s with rebuilds for sale for around 4-6k. You\'d struggle to find similar spec fd\'s for a few grand more!!!

Imagine that in the Westfield. It would might be fast then

If money were no problem I\'d have both! I love my FC to bits and for the money I can\'t find anything else that\'d keep me as entertained. I\'ve never driven an FD but have been a passenger and they do seem to have a very similar feel from the passenger seat.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Its such a difficult decision to make! It will be my daily driver, but I\'m planning learning drifting @ pod on the weekends, I think I\'d prefer an fd but the fc is as mentioned a bit cheaper and I used to have a egi fc and never really got to experience the full turbo II experience.

I\'m also thinking that with the drifting plans and the daily driver in mind the more reliable 13b turbo might be a better option than the rew?

So hard to decide, thanks for the advice... Any more views and opinions most welcome.
