Is it me or is DW down tonight. I can\'t get on at all.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Ok, its taken time, but, first update, I decided to have a little bit of a play around. The bonnet scoop had a crack in it which was annoying me, I had some black satin paint in a rattlecan going to waste, so i had a bit of a dickabout, sanding down, repairing the crack, 4 layers of black satin and 3 layers of satin laquer later...

hi mate, yeah suspension is all good, resolved the bolt issue, the juddering i think comes from the wheels and spacer combo, pretty sure i never had it before putting them on. It only juddered on full lock so i never bothered me, (might be tracking perhaps)

Is it still treating you right? i still miss it but the 2-350 miles i do a week wouldn\'t let me keep it. Plus with the FD on the drive as well it would be rude to keep it.

Get using it properly redline and side ways, what its made to do!!!!

lol, I have been redlining her, not a lot, but a few times, I have noticed she has a tendancy to kick out the back end going from 2nd to 3rd at redline, which is disconcerting but manageable.

I have a feeling that the juddering is the tyres scrubbing on the arches because they are wider than normal and the spacers push the outside of the tyres out just that little bit more to create contact., again, no big deal.

I\'ve had no problems really, had a bit of a moment when the temp got a bit hight but i just stuck some more coolant in, although, it did look a bit murky n there so may have to change it and see if theres any problems with the coolant system.

apart from that, its all good, will be cutting out the collapsed jacking points and welding new metal in there soon, just to make it look better, maybe stripping the entire under and treating any suspect areas before they get a chance to spread.

all in all, well worth the cash!

Ok, as she stands now with all 4 Mazdaspeeds on...

She needs a clean I know, that will be tomorrow

And the new spoiler I\'m prepping and painting at the moment, will hopefully be on tomorrow in time for the bluewater Jap meet

Also... I don\'t suppose one of the mods would mind moving this thread to the members rides/projects section would they?

Right... Update time... Its been a while. That and i cant sleep so its time to get as much off my mind as possible.

The car has been sorned for the time being, rust being the main culprit meaning it wont pass the MOT. Sooo... Time for a full restoration. What has been giving me trouble is which way round to do it.

I think I\'ll start off by stripping down all the interior and storing it, clean it all up inside (sound deadening etc) and just turning it into an empty shell. Then, il take the front bumper etc off to enable the easier removal of the engine and gearbox, take off all the drivetrain and suspension components, clean them up and give them a lick of nice fresh paint.

Then, when all i have is a nice empty shell, i can send that off for the rust repairs, i will also have a good idea of just what panels are too far gone to repair and will just replace outright.

When the shell and everything non-engine related is looking pretty and clean and repaired, the engine and (recon) gearbox will slide back in, get taken down to see Carl Hayward and get a lovely rebuild and some experimental bits.
At this point, i hope to have the interior fully stripped, a half cage with harness bar, minimalist dashboard (aluminium i suppose), welded all the interior seams, all the engine bay, blanked the sunroof, got my wide arches on and somehow made my MS747s fill the gap, renew all the pipes, tidy the wires up, and various other things that slip my mind...

I suppose i wont really find out just how much needs doing until i do it... I do like Grinders allen key bolt idea for a lot of it though.

Onwards...!!!

Good plans but have you looked in to reshelling the car to save all the rust repairs, might save time and money
