Does this make sense to anyone? :Hammer:Hammer:Hammer:Hammer

Not to me mate, he has done outstanding with what he had and his recent poor results are down to a huge injury list on tiny first team squad (by premiership standards anyway).

Rumour is that Ashley wants his old friend in as manager, watch this space!!

Newcastle\'s manager changes baffle me.  This recent one most of all, he\'s done a good job, got them into the Premiership after sliding into the Championship and it\'s not as though he\'s going to win the Premiership overnight.  If he finished top half of the table then I reckon he\'d have done a good job.  Next season he should have been aiming for the Champions League to get some more cash then he could have bought in some talent to secure Newcastle as a front running team.

Looking at the top four teams in the Premiership at the moment, two/three of them have huge cash backers able to buy players at massively inflated prices, two have good youth development programmes bringing new talent through and two have the longest serving managers in the Premiership, all of them have managers who have been at the club for at least a whole season.  The most successful team of the Premier League/Premiership era is Manchester United who have had the same manager for the whole of that time.  Arsenal haven\'t been short of success either and Wenger\'s been there for well over a decade.  Even Chelsea and Man City have had their managers for over a season.  Newcastle\'s policy of sacking their manager after a no-score draw seems mental.  I reckon if Ashley gets a mate in to manage the club, the fans will get a sad on and the club will suffer.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Newcastle were utterly pitiful when they went down to the Championship, they could quite easily have kept on going down IMHO. Hughton overachieved massively, kept them together, consolidated, brought them back up, has massive respect in the dressing room and from the fans....so of course they\'re gonna sack him  Completely and utterly ridiculous, but then, it\'s about as ridiculous as Newcastle continually banging on about what a "big" club they are. Their expectations are always massively different from reality.....

It\'s just totally baffling, to have that much backing and respect from the players, to have achieved so much and haul Ashley\'s sorry ass out of the .... and then to be treated like that. And he has the manners to be gracious about it-I hope he goes somewhere way more deserving of a manager like that.

I posted this on another car forum, and even now i am totally gobsmacked at this decision.

Its a total f**king disgrace.

I just hope they (newcastle utd) go down again, and dont return.
That fat f**k in charge needs his head examined.....they could have been another leeds, but hughton needs a proper medal for getting them straight back up again.

They were doing alright in the premier aswell.....11th, beating arsenal, sunderland and villa (comprehensively aswell).
Yes, they had some bad results, but they\'ve had some good ones aswell.

Surely this year was about survival......all i can imagine is mike ashley talking about "top 4".....what a c**T.

Chris Hughton....if you want to take over at Lincoln, please go ahead, we would love you there!

Pardue will get the job at Newcastle due to him being a good friend of Ashley\'s but it will be interesting to see what happens if injuries continue to plague the club and results continue to slide. Will he peddle his mate as easy ??. I agree with all the comments posted above and Houghton was a light at the end of the tunnel of embarrassment for Newcastle united.

I am a regular attendee at St James and cant begin to describe the disgust i have witnessed at the club since Mike Ashley bought it.Nothing surprises anymore and if his business aim was to become a premiership laughing stock then in that he has succeeded.

Houghton had kick-started lost passions inside many geordie fans but thats finished now.

I just hope in years to come i forget these years of national ridicule as would any football fan who watches a fatcat business man come in and take apart a club they supported from childhood.

Nevermind though its only football, they are all on the take one way or another!!

Alan Pardew !?!?!?

It just gets weirder and weirder.

I was gobsmacked at the sacking, and even more gobsmacked at the replacement.
You Newcastle fans must be absolutely sick and tired at what is going on.

I dont have a crystal ball or anything but i heard within a day of hughton getting the bullet that Pardue would be his Pally pally replacement and to answer your question, Sick and tired, mate its devasting really.

Alan Pardew ? :rollin:rollin:rollin

Chris did an outstanding job and should have been given it permanently, but Ashley pays the bills so let him do as he wants and we\'ll see where they end up :King

No chance.

They will need mega bucks to get into the top 5:

Chelsea
Man U
Arsenal
Man C
Tottenham
Liverpool

Bar Arsenal the others have spent big over the last 5 years to get to where they are, Liverpool spent over £250m with Benitez and look at them now ???

Everton were tipped to hit the top 5 yet we have given up hard tracking football for the more passing and moving game and we are being out done by the other teams adapting our original hard work ethic.

Blackburn will have to spend proper big money to get into the top 5, £200m plus and yet they only spared £10m for Sam to use :Hammer

Liverpool 6th, surely you jest!!!!.

They have played completely gash all season and dont look like improving despite their big money squad.

Its a sad thing to see, and a genuinely mean it that the most decorated club in football is dragged to this level through politics and finance.

That list was not the league prediction, just a list of the clubs Blackburn would have to hold their own against :Laugh
