\'course Webers are better than Dellortos.  Nooooooooooo - let\'s not go there!  ;)

MrHanky

Bugger, just been outbid and im not too sure if I want to go too much higher.  Comes with manifold for a mini as well, which is attracting extra attention.  Will have a quick think

You\'d be better off trying the classic car mags - although these (and DCOEs) will always be "in demand".  A new (if you can find one!) Dell\'Orto DHLA48 is about £495 (inc vat).  The comparable Weber DCOE45 is about £320.  Both plus extra cost of linkages of course :(

MrHanky

Thanks for the suggestion.  Would a Weber 45 DCOE be suitable for a rotary? as i thought I would need at least a 48?

Just spotted this and was wondering if anyone knew what a DCO is?

well Bad luck,, something will come along if you\'re still interesting having a Delly.
50\'s bit too big for a 6p, 45\'s okay for 12A engine but bit small for 6p, might be good for a roadgoing car and not on the funday..

keep looking...

MrHanky

Okey dokey.  Thanks for your help.
Out of interest would you go for the Dellorto 48 or the Weber 48 IDA (I dont think they do a 48 DCOE, but correct me if im wrong).

for the road car, go for delly and.......... the funday as you know... Weber 48IDA.
the reason that the delly got a choke and good for starting in the cold morning in the winter.
had been starting the PP motor first time every start with 51 IDA, its don\'t have a choke and only way\'s pumping the carb three times before starting.

canna remember aboot 48 DCOE, just 50mm+55mm me think...

With regards to the 50, is it possible to restict it down to make it suitable for a near stock 6pt, but then use de-restrict should I eventually get a Bridge port?

Hmmm, might consider the 48 IDA then.  Car is for track days and the ossasional blast at the weekend.  Gets SORN\'d over the winter.
Is either one particularly easier to setup than the other?
Sorry for all of the questions.

Nae problem,
6port/turboII engine\'s the way of better engineering engine than all rotary engines that mazda ever made but...
bridge a 6p, better to steer away frae it as they\'re already too high timing.
better go for a TII 4p end plate and bridged it and 48IDA suit to fellow.
remember the timing\'s different between low/mid revrange, open early/standard close= strong pull, open early/late close= weak pull.
want to high rev all days long, go for early/late timing and no pull(  high rev pull frae 5,500 to 9,500+, full clearance bearings /lighter rotors, clearance at both side of upper end of rotors, ligher flywheel, alloy pulleys, 11.5NGK, modify oil system etcccc....
nothing\'s impossible, can restricted the choke on 50\'s .eg 39mm choke
it\'s better go for IDA because it\'s IDA.....;)cool..like cheese and wine with the rotary engine.
it\'s easy to set up on IDA if you know how, if not there\'s many roller doon in Englandshire will do it for you.unlike mine\'s bar none in Scotland and only tell them how to do it!!!!LoL.

your choice, Mark;)

MrHanky

Thanks again for the info Mr Heid :)
Much appreciated.  Think I will go do some more reading on IDA etc.

Just looked at your car Rotorheid.  Wish I had the spare money for that, as it would save me a heap of time.  Think wife would leave me though if I somehow found the money and bought my 3rd FC for the drive :)

it\'s still there, it got all its needs for speed, handling and more important\'s ...the sound of proper mazda rotary....

Just trying to think of ways of pulling some money out of my back side :)
If I was able to get hold of some money, would you be interested in px for an EGI worth around £750?

Thanks
