Got a chance to get an RE Ameniya top-mount at a pretty decent price  (cheaper than the market value for the ARC ones).  Was wondering if  anyone\'s had any experience with them and if they are worth getting.  I  know the pros of a FMIC but am just wondering about this top-mount  specifically.

I know notihing about that one specifically. Looks like a custom jobby.

If you\'re running a standard tub it\'s pretty much the cheapiest and easiest way to go.

Personaly I\'d run a frount mount, but theres no real evidence behind why

Yeah, I thought it looked like a custom one, but checked the RE Ameniya site and they were showing very similar pics.

seen quite a few of these before, only know they are 1.5 the size of stock tmic.
iirc the stock tmic has a plate on the base to help divert some of the hot air going straight through to the tmic but this does not so more prone to heat soak?

also i dont think the bonnet scoop opening is wide enough to cover most of that tmic so might need to make the opening bit bigger.

for around £100(?) not worth it imo.

if it sais "RE Ameniya" then i guess its a copy from RE Amemiya lol

It\'s the same on the ARC ones - no plate on the bottom, but if anything that plate - being black, absorbs heat quite readily - I\'d say from my testing that it\'s better than stock by a long way.

I agree about the bonnet ducting though - could be an issue

Looks like you can run this one without a Greddy compression tube too. The outlet is in the stock position unlike the ARC ones.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Looks like a "cut & shut" that someone has knocked up in their garage - that welding is awful!

I thought it was knock-off, but checked the RE Ameniya site and their pics are almost exactly the same!  Definitely not a knock-off - it was from a car that had a bunch of RE Ameniya parts (am currently negotiating with the supplier about their front bumper).

Think it should go with the RE Ameniya bonnet though which has a much wider opening.  Now discontinued but alternatives are available new through some sources and looks like this:

Only problem is that it\'s only available in FRP of carbon and is far too expensive for me!

knightsport do a similar style bonnet with reversible / detatchable main vent so if you do go fmic then will still be useful but i think is about 60000yen
