This was my first time at Rockingham and I have to say, I loved it.  Morning was tricky as the track so wet (2 people span on the sighting laps), but it was still good fun.  I spun early on at Pif - Paf but had plenty of space so did not get hit.

Almost got wiped out in the afternoon by a 3 series trying to late brake at the end of the straight.  Was about to turn in when I looked in my mirrors to see a 3 series going sideways, right towards where I was about to start turning.  Decided to go through cones onto the rest of the banked corner instead, so no problem in the end.

Once the track had dried, it was brilliant.  Will definately be going back there next year.  Car handled great but still needs more power on straights.  Still need to strip car though, so this will help a bit.

Thats it for this year, so time to SORN car and get to work over the winter :)

Was it the International circuit you were on?

I did my first track day in the missus\'s Cooper S back in august on the International track.

I like the series of bends before you switch back onto the banked corner before the start / finish straight.
Turned into the worst part of my life....my precious fd3 has gone, but never forgotten....roll on a new life!!!!

Yep it was the international circuit.  Those last few bends were good apart from Tarzan (I think) as this was just slippy all through the day.  I loved the chicane at the end of the straight as well.

Absolutely fine :)
There was no testing going on and there were stacks of cars that were louder anyway.  Not had it checked yet but my friend who is a rally mechanic, reckons it would be less than 102 anyway.  For all of the tracks I would like to do, it should be fine.

Might take the RB back boxes off the other EGI and get them fitted anyway, these would make it quieter just in case.

I did the track sessions at the Japfest 2 show, and you\'d have thought they would have been strict, but they ran drift sessions after drift session, and the noise from them pro drift cars (tyres and engine) saw none of them booted off.

And there were some pretty mental sounding large bhp cars going round during the track sessions that seemed to get away with it aswell.

I think the fact that the track is next to a large industrial estate, as opposed to a quiet little village helps a lot :)

Seems such a shame that the track isn\'t used that much as it is good for spectators and is a great track to drive.

Its a really good track Rockingham.

I was nervous most of the day when coming round the bend, seeing as there were so many slippy bits round the rest of the track.  Not so bad spinning at Pif Paf, but if you lose it round there, then im sure the wall would hurt.

Loved it though and will go back in the spring hopefully.  With any luck it will be a nice dry day so I can push the car a bit more :)
