Surprised no-one else has mentioned this.... The theme for next year\'s Goodwood Festival of Speed has been announced "Racing revolutions - quantum leaps that shaped motorsport."

The Mazda Le Mans victory is specifically mentioned in the PH article, although it is unclear whether this is quoted from the FoS press pack.

It would be AMAZING to have the 787B over here again - hope they do it!

I saw the 787B in 1998 at Goodwood, it sounded awesome!

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

They fduking welll should do, especially as it\'s the anniversary of the LeMans victory. I hope so, saw some "lesser" rotary prototype racers there one year and the noise still has the hair on the back of my neck standing up. Sick criminal part of it is that IIRC they have to lease the car back from the LeMans museum at exorbitant rates if they want to show it, so I\'d definitely not expect it to run if they do get it there at all. The Mazda stand at last years FoS was five MX5s on a giant scalextric track, and I don\'t think there was a staff memeber who knew what a rotary was and probably would have called Security if you\'d said you were a Wankel enthusiast

I\'d be there for sure if the 787b was there and running.
I saw it there a few years back but without an engine in it

Never been to the GFOS but if the 787b is going to be there, do we need any other reason???!! :cheers

And, having started this thread, I can\'t bl**dy well make Goodwood this year!! :2Mad:2Mad

Absolutely gutted :(

Chances of the 787B appearing outside Japan again.... Maybe not.

I only live 2 hours away from Goodwood, maybe if I listen hard enough :D

Youtube, yes just thought of that aswell.

Also I was given a large book all about the development of it called Never Stop Challenging by Pierre Dieudonne which I will bring to Simply Mazda 2011 next week.

The noise of it running up the hill was just amazing.

It was indescribably fantastic, nothing else in the world sounds like that. What a noise! I\'ve still got goosebumps and a tumescence like a rounders bat just thinking about it. Took 620 photos today (nope, not kidding.) not all of the 787B so I\'ll do a thread when I have time. I fear my videos won\'t come to much though.

What a top day out, and seeing and hearing the 787B at last, what a moment of epiphany! I can die happy now, with that noise still ringing in my head

Ada7

Looking forward to your write up all about the day :D
