After a frantic call to Mr si the other night becuase i found out i was running very low on oil at about 11\'o\'clock without a garage to be seen i nursed my 7 home. next day went out a brought some of the golden juice to replace said lost oil. happily replaced all good i thought, come lastnight thought ok everythings ok, opened her up and found that id sprung a leak, i think that its coming from around where the intercooler piper goes down to the turbo\'s, its right by my dumpvalves  theres oil there and no where else, not below it either which makes me think its a little spit in the pipe and its exhausting the oil under pressure(which is wats happening) its doesnt seem to be the seals in the turbo becuase with i let the turbo spool up the back off left in gear no smoke comes out
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

am i right in thinking this???? if repaired will it be ok?

Mr J.T

come on please help:(

Is there any sign of the oil coming out under pressure?

Mr J.T

i dont think so, it looks as if its coming out when pressures there but becuase its limited to a small area id say that its not under a lot of pressure

No point ringing Mr Si, HE KNOW NOTHING!!!!

But get the leak repaired at a respected garage to make sure the leak is repaired correctly, then monitor the running of the car and watch boost pressure to make sure all is cool.

Also for the next few days after the repair watch for any other leaks in the system.

Has the oil ever been overfilled?  I had a similar problem after an oil change, some leaked out then it stopped - no problems since.

Mr J.T

i was hoping someone would come up with that one! i topped it up lastnight and i know that ive overfilled it, so gonna drain a bit out tonight, hopefully it;ll be that. although there was a very small amount being released regardless,
anyone suggest a good place to take it?!

Thanks for the comments

It common for oil to get into the high pressure side of the turbo pipes. You can fit an oil catch tank. The leak is probably due to a air leak from the top of the y-pipe. It is quitte common to get a split in the rubber connecting pipe.

The oil gets forced out wherever the is an associated air leak.
If you have a boost gauge you may see a slight decrease in boost also. The quanity of oil in the air intake system can increase if the car is overfilled with oil.
I don\'t think small amounts of oil in intake will damage engine though !
