I just saw the Haye/Valuev fight for the first time!

I am no boxer, but what an absolute load of rubbish!

Bring back the glory days of Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Tyson, Hollyfield etc

I certainly wouldnt pay £15 to watch either of the above!

That was more of a tactical fight, he had to jab and move to get KO\'d, i think if Haye had gone for him quicker he may well have KO\'d the bloke

I see Derek Chisora was spared Jail yesterday, instead he got a 12 week suspended sentence over an attack on his ex girlfriend.

Derek is mental, his girlfriend should have been more carefull if she is getting naughty texts from another man you are playing with fire with a guy that mental.

I think he may have a chance to drop some bombs on Klitschko , he has very powerful short punches when he demolished Williams and Carl Baker. His title shot has come a bit early would like to see him fight a few more international opponents before taking on a World Championship fight. But he does have a real chance and I think Wlad may be taking him to lightly.

Blitz, i think Derek does have talent.....he\'s a proper bruiser / slugger......however, his Danny WIlliams fight was a farce to be fair.....Danny Williams was obviously there for one last pay cheque, and just gave up!
He gave up about 30 seconds into the fight....i cant recall him throwing a punch after those first 30 secs.

Oh yes I agree Danny was a passenger in that fight, but i was just looking at Dereks punching power, some real quick powerful hands, reminded me of Tysons short punches.
Hopefully he is working hard in the gym, as he will need his fitness against Wlad

Yeah, definitely agree, he needs to get his endurance up......Wlad a big BIG guy, and he leans all over anyone he fights, and that will wear Derek out if he\'s not careful.

Did you see Derek v Sam Sexton? Good job the ref stepped in, Sam didnt know what time of day it was.....Derek was holding him while he just continually hitting him.

No I might try and see if I can find it on Youtube. Derek defo has a desire to hurt people unlike Audley he looks scared as if he still fighting by amateur rules and does not like the brutal aspect of the professional sport

Why was that rubbish?

David Haye fought the perfect fight......he was never ever going to knock Valuev out (although he almost did in the 12th).
So he decided to get in and out, hit and move, hit and move.

If he got into a close body brawl, Valuev would have probably knocked him clean out, or worn himself out completely grappling with someone 6-7 stone heavier and leaning all over him for 12 rounds!

Boxing isnt just about getting into a ruck in the ring.

It was rubbish because it was boring as hell and if Valuev had just stood there you would have had a stalemate!

You seem to like putting words into my mouth, i never said it needed to be a ruck and guess Haye did what he needed to do but imho as a non boxer i wouldnt have been surprised to have seen Haye lose that fight on points as the only round he shone was the last!

the haye vs valuev fight was terrible!
this haye vs harrison will be a boring two egos not wanting to get hurt just like when ordinary fought williams there was loads of good banter before the fight with them bothy slagging each other to bits then when it came to it none of them went for it i was glad i was in the pub and didnt pay to watch it and can still remember the crowd booing the pair during the rounds
 
as far as chisora i say fair play to him at least he has the balls to step up for a title shot unlike the above

Was watching "behind the ropes" last night regarding this fight, there is nothing i have seen from Audrey that suggests this is gonna last more than 2 rounds :Giggle:Giggle:Giggle

I suppose the funny thing is that if Haye fought Tyson at his peak it would probably last no more than 2 rounds either, such is the state of HW boxing :god

i see that too gurj.....audley seems to be just concentrating on using his mouth for the camera.....ala Ali, however, Audley has 1% of thetalent Ali had so how can he possible think he can mimmic such a great.
