hey all :wave

my mate has an rx7 and he is a member of the forum slater1980 however due to a power cut currently he can\'t get on line hence my post


he can\'t get the car started currently.

the car is turning over but won\'t fire the imobiliser is off and there is fuel in the car. We are thinking its the sparks or the coil possibly. just wondered if there was any issues trying to bump start a rex?

It\'s a rotary, s o first guess would be it\'s flooded!
Try the usual things:

Remove EGI fuse and crank it over for a good 30s or so, try asain.
Remove EGI fuse and sparks, turn over a few times, dry sparks with blow torch. Replace and try
Attempt to tow start.

ok, where will i have the egi fuse please?
 
would simply taking the power lead off the fuel pump work and turning for 30 secs work or is this fuse for the fuel pump?

EGI gubbins is in the big fuse box that bolts to the battery IIRC

Yup, removing the fuel pump wiring would work even better, as you\'re sparking away merrily and burnin anything else off
EGI fuse controls pump and injectors IIRC. I\'ve rewired a load of mine so can\'t remember 100% what does what and is where :o Sorry

If you tow start it, Don\'t be alarmed by the inevitable... I\'ll probably hear the bang when it fires up and clears the fuel from here in Kenilworth
