hi, i have had an unregistered rx7 on my drive now for a couple of months with a boost issue. 4psi up to 4k then totally gutlless thereafter on the rev range. its running very rich but starts on the button every time.
i have pulled the error codes and im getting codes 6 and 40. one is accelerator cable and the other purge control solenoid. my question is will these two problems effect my boost and richness? i know the FD is very temperamental when it comes to the vac lines and such but would the purge solenoid effect driveablity to the extent im getting.
thanks very much for any input, i dont frequent the site much but hopefully if i can get the car running im intending to keep it and get in on the scene :Thumbs-up

thanks again

i meant .4bar not 4psi :chat

can anyone tell me what symptoms id get with this solenoid not working, if any. before i start compression test etc, cheers

0.4 bar os too low, it should be up to 0.7bar until transision when it drops to 0.6 the back up to 0.7 again!
Personaly I would get the rats nest out from under the UIM & change all the hoses on it for silcone ones along with the ones that come from the turbo pack, and while it\'s off test each solonoid to see if they are working correctly.

thanks for the reply, i bit the bullet today and did a compression  test, it seems the rear rotor is showing no compression :(
i had a feeling there was something more a miss, and i mean no compression front rotor im getting combined 100+psi and a nice chuff-chuff-chuff, rear rotor absolutely nothing no psi and no chuff.

gutted

odd, not very oftern you spin out all 3 rotor tips! Might be wrong, but I\'d of thought you would have some compression!

Have you got a boost gauge?? if you have, does the needle flutter at idle? this is classic signs of tip failure!
