Hi, can I just plug and play an fd power fc on my fc s5? Or do I have to remove the emissions stuff and change the fpr and stuff? I\'ve already changed the trailing coils. Thx

you need a gm3 bar mapp sensor and also an fd ait then the coil pack mod.
oh you also need a harness too.

check out the tech support here:

yes, I\'ve already got it all wired up, 3bar,ait and coil pack mod. But it misfires when i get into boost, probably somekind of leak. You\'re sure i can use the stock fpr? I also run 800cc secundaries.

Furb

kris, what map are you using? the one that banzai racing gave you with the adapter harness?

doesnt matter which fpr you use.

KrisD1

I\'ve used the map you gave me (Furb08-09) but it doesn\'t seem to work when the secundaries come on. Knock also goes to 75 which is a bit high I think.
Now could it be that I have to change my injector settings? My lag time for the 800cc is 1.6ms, 550cc should be .73ms so should I change my secundary lag to 0.87ms? what transition should I use?

Furb

your lag time is waaaaay too high.. my 1600cc even use less lag time!

with my 550/750 setup lag time is set to 0
with my 550/1600 setup, 550\'s set to 0, 1600 set to 0.18

Geff from RE-Worx set it this way.

try to get it running when set to 0.. this means you have to adjust the injector map all the way, it might be even easier to reset the powerFC to standard and work from there!
on the standard powerFC map, my car has always run normally. you just have to keep an eye on AF as soon as you come out of vacuum

That may be correct on the lag time - my 800cc secondaries which came from SARD are 1.6ms.  It\'s not a problem when these are used on the secondaries, as this is factored in when they are driven, and also the minimum the secondaries will run at is about 20%.  This lag time may only be a problem if your using these as primaries and trying to setup the very low pulse widths at idle, since the turn on time becomes a large factor.

Just so you know...

The lag time is the time it takes to turn the injector fully on.  During this turn on cycle, the injector will flow some fuel, and this is taken into account by the ECU when calculating fuel requirements.  The Megasquirt sites have some good info on lag time and the amount of fuel it flows.  It\'s also worth pointing out that if you tell the ECU you have no lag time and then try driving it for a pulse shorter than the lag time, you will get a lot less fuel than you might of expected ;)

i know, but in his case (read it in the other thread), he has problems when he is getting into boost.
combined with these lagtimes i would suggest to try if he can get any improvements here.. ;)

i have fiddled around with lagtimes when i got my new turbo and injectors on, and got similar symptoms with long lag times.
in the end i just set to 0 so it drove fine up to 10psi and drove to the UK that way. i let RE-Worx figure it out from there..

Found the problem, had to hardwire the fuelpump, doesn\'t work with the stock fuelrelay :-)

still needs some finetunning and need to install my wideband, shows 12,5 on boost on my turbotimer
