Quote from: myatt1972;723106Got myself a car ramp last week, well, when I say car ramp I mean forklift, but capable of lifting 4tonne so a car shouldnt be a problem.
It was free to a good home and I cant say no, so this is another project:D

Keith...

nice one! are you going to keep it standard or put the 13b in it?!

myatt1972

Standard will do fine I think :evillaugh

Its already mid engined so should handle well with a bit more air in the tyres.

CHC (RIP)

I see it has the standard non reclining drivers seat.

Shouldn\'t complain really being as it was a freebie - suppose you\'ll be looking for a hand book now?

Quote from: Ian65;723095when I built my garage at my old house, I bought a Mechmate motor pit, one of those fibreglass things you see in the classic car mags.... cost me a grand and when I moved 2 yrs later, i had to leave it behind as you concrete them in. Plus you had to sit down in it on a sliding seat.... crap!

My current house had already got a proper brick built pit inside the garage, very deep and long... perfect for working on my RX7. Not as pretty as the fibreglass thing but 100 times better.

If I build a garage again, I\'ll forget the pits and make sure I\'ve got enough height for a 2 post lift. Proper job.

Fair play to your mom Steve for giving up her veg garden. Get one of those cheap plastic marquees off ebay, it\'ll keep the wind and rain out, that\'s all you need really.

Fibre glass pit does look better even though a little cramped perhaps, so guys it looks as if \'size does matter\' after all.
Think I\'d be happy with either or (pit or posts that is).

2 post ramp would be nice.....

But might be a little out of budget :P

Axel stands and cheap marquee is the way to go. More importantly I need to sort the fence and slabs situation asap.

I also found this picture, and fell in love with elements of it. Not so sure on the bonnet or rear wing but the wheels, arches, the colour etc its lovely. I\'ve added it to the inspiration folder!

Know what you mean Steve - be like me, make a wish list and it\'s surprising how much of it comes true.

Man if only these were 4 stud then i could easily get adapters made.

Though I think I\'m gonna try to keep my ears to the ground for some ssr mk3, hayashi street or some wide watanabes.

I remember around 1990,my 1st s3 fb,Compomotive did a nice set of rims,so i fitted them,looked g8.
Next was a red momo steering wheel & gear nob,an exhaust the diameter of eurostar tunnel, halfords brake lights i fitted on rear screen too.

I like those watanbes, look like minilites.

Best of luck! If you find any get two sets....

It\'s funny, that burgundy SA is in my inspiration folder too-like it a lot.

They are like minilites but better :P

Both are just copies of a 60s racing design, but a set of 15x7 minilites weigh around 20lbs per corner where as 15x7 Watanabes weigh 10lbs per corner.

If I hit a goldmine of rare classic japanese wheels I\'ll let you know Tim :P More likely I\'ll just keep my eye on ebay and other forums and then try to pick up a couple of unmatched pairs, in either 4x100 or 4x114.3, then get someone like BM motorsports to make adapters up for 4x110.

I\'ve got my set of 14x6.5 et30 Watanabes, which with 25mm 4x100 to 4x110 adapters should sit in the stock arches quite nice but due to the condition of Rexanne\'s rear arches i\'m almost certain over fenders will be the way to go, then I\'ll need much wider wheels.

This is my Watanabes on my mx5 with 25mm spacers. Gauging from pics on rx7club it seems the hub to arch size of the fb is pretty similar to that of mx, so they should sit pretty similarly.

Thought you lived in Liverpool when I first saw this photo then thought \'don\'t be silly - scousers don\'t use axle stands\' and certainly wouldn\'t leave the front wheels either!
