By the way Don, this is pretty similar to the colour of Ian\'s last S3 so if you ask nicely he may post a pic up.

Don, that looks exactly like Mazda sunrise red which is a factory standard colour on s3 RX7\'s.
Here\'s the car I\'ve recently sold in that colour...

If this is the colour you\'ve got you heart set on, I\'d wait and look for one in this colour rather than go to the trouble and expense of doing a full colour change. ( unless you really want to do a nut and bolt rebuild which seems a bit unneccessary if the blue car is as good as it sounds)
You could always run the blue car and then sell it on when a red one comes up which they do from time to time.

Or perhaps a little darker ???

Keith...

Fair enough if you want a non standard colour like that wide body but I can\'t see the point in spending £££££\'s changing to a standard factory colour.
Just buy one in that colour!

I once had a nice purple one :D

Enough said !

Quote from: Ian65;722385It was green, that\'s why Keith didn\'t buy it. It looked silver in the pics but then, in reality, oh dear!

Had a feeling it was green because of the inset on the leather seats.
I really must be the odd one out here as I actually liked the metallic green - sad or what?  What I wasn\'t fussed on was the Tan interior that went with it.
If one came up I would consider purchasing it.

there\'s no answer to that really!

Yes fair and sensible comment Ian, the attraction for me is the one owner, 53k on the clock.
Love your red motor though really nice.

Also love that darker one too, its that claret colour that does it for me.

Thanks Tim for posting up my artwork.

5 days to go before I view and test the S3, it will be a week or two later before I can bring her home, if we do a deal that is.
Will take some more pics of the car when I go on Tuesday, so I will have to sort out photobucket or get on Tims case again, (sorry Tim).
Don.

Have to admit Ian, the one you recently sold did look nice and I\'ll bet it was even better than it looked.
Was there a specific reason for selling it as in \'too many projects\' or couldn\'t squeeze any more into the garage with one already in the pit?

I bought it because after a few years out of one, I wanted to get back into a 1st gen and it was in very nice condition and pretty cheap @ £780.
I never really settled on the colour and I\'d always wanted a nice black S3 for the last 20 years but never found one when I was in the market for one.
After buying the red car, I then bought a \'C\' reg black car as a project last year and then this year, bought my black \'A\' reg that I\'m presently turbo-ing so the red car was surplus to requirements and I sold it on for 1200 quid.
I suppose it\'s going back to what I saying yesterday about cars and colours. If I\'ve got reservations about the colour, I can\'t settle with the car.

Check the club conditions out but £30 for full 12 months membership was a no brainer for me - back of the net!
