Quote from: David Nock;719307A sort of Rally to a nice visitor area....yeh....... maybe alternative to Brooklands???

that sort of thing, have a nice pub lunch and get the cars together for a few pics..... must be somewhere we all fancy going.
doesn\'t need to be an official club outing, just a few mates meeting up for a pint and a chat.

Sorry guys been on collecting spree today so I\'ve missed all the chit chat.
I\'m up for meets whether it be just mates or even formal outings.  Agree with everyone, lets get our thinking caps on and come up with proposals so that we can work out a short list and strategy making all this talk into reality.
As said, what photo opportunities this could be and if we can do it on a bi-annual or even quarterly basis perhaps we could even hop (well okay) drive around the country so that everybody has an opportunity to stay localish.
Cotswolds are always a good venue, how\'s about Cheddar Gorge/Wells/Glastonbury area too.  York, peak District, The Lakes, Hadrians Wall, Edinburgh why the listing could be endless.  The whole point is
a) We get to meet up for a get together, lunch or perhaps evening meal / overnight stays
b) Excellent photo opportunities for group shots
c) Advertising to others, general public, car enthusiasts what ever - come see what we\'ve got and lets show them off and be proud to do so, after all we are just a few but boy we could really put our faces on the proverbial map. Everybody has heard of the London to Brighton run, well could we start something similar?

Anyway - you can count me in, just got to get JAZ through her 1st test with me.

Quote from: ossie747;719271Looks great Cliff, I\'ve also got a white fb, love um. What do you use on the spoiler to keep it looking so black?

Paul

Morning Paul, to be honest mate this is a replacement which I acquired from Tamworth during the summer - quick who said the word summer, did we miss it!
As it happens I was there yesterday talking to Stu and we were discussing the very same subject.  We each have always used \'Back to Black\' although Stu did iterate that to keep the spoiler in good health it should be pretreated with a solution from halfords or the like for suppleness and the \'B2B\' at least annually.
Once I\'ve finished JAZ I have a spare spoiler which I shall clean and treat for future use or perhaps to sell on.

Car running fine starts 1st time doing every thing it should be, but i cant get the temp, oil pressure, petrol gauges working , also the row of warning light are staying on. I have removed the rats nest and the portion of the loom that would have carried power to the original carb is disconnected from everything. Now i have by supplying power direct from the battery found some of the missing bits i.e. the oil pressure gauge but i think i may have blew a fuse some where other than the fuse box as i have lost power in that portion of the loom so who\'s the expert on electrics

if it were a roadside problem on a standard S3/12A, I\'d look first at something called the choke and check relay. It\'s situated on the inside of the inner wing and if that sticks the warning lights stay on. Trouble is my wiring diagrams are general and not S3 specific.
The actual gauges do not seem to be linked to this relay but who knows? There are gauge connections to a voltage regulator in the instrument panel shown, which in turn seems to be fed from the instrument panel fuse in the fuse box.
Relay is sort of metal can \'U\' shaped and with care it can be opened up to check the contacts inside.
The fuel gauge is often \'iffy\' on these cars and problem could be at the sender....

David, just thought I\'d let you guys know the gold s2 reg ending EPH, will be transfered over to me in a few days. So it\'ll be coming to live in Malvern with me and hopefully back on the road in a few months :)

I took quite a liking to from the day I went to view it Ross before he bought it! I\'m looking forward to a new project, hoping to return it to its former glory though quite likely with a performance bias :D

The full set of 6 lights come on with the ignition key. Then once you\'ve fired up (and from memory now), just the left hand handbrake light stays on \'till you set off.
