So here\'s what I did:

1. Plugged laptop into PFC
2. Did auto detection of com port and turned on ignition as requested
3. Located and loaded ok, i saved the map
4. Unchecked all the locked settings
5. Updated
6. Hit write all.

Now the car won\'t start???

What have I done?
Any help much appreciated!

Cheers,
Paul.

Have you tried writing the original file (the one you saved in step 3) back to the Power FC?

Having now thought back I think I unchecked the locks then saved it. I\'ve searched and according to the guy that maintains the PFC FAQ unlocking it screws some of the other settings so I think that\'s what\'s happened.

I reset it back to defaults which means it runs now.

Going to see if Carl has a copy so I can flash it straight on :)

Sigh, why can\'t people write non-buggy software for a change.

Still can\'t understand why any tuner would lock it in the first place. You pay for the map !

Me neither tbh as anyone with a Datalogit (or similar) can unlock it anyways. If it were pwd protected then maybe as you could stop others from seeing the maps but the PFC one is some checkboxes.

I don\'t even want to mess with the map, just the PIM voltage :)

the reason carl locks the maps is simple, if he built you an engine and mapped it he offers a 24k mile warrantee on it, he doesnt want you messing with it, blowing it up and then trying to claim on the warrantee
