Hi

If you want 400 out of twin turbos,,,speak with Jason of Super7..I think his Rx7 is twin turbo and currently producing 400bhp....speak with him and see what he says..

He said 400 bhp which is what manufactures use to rate hp. That\'s more like 340 rwhp. Shouldn\'t be hard to hit that with a street ported engine and about any turbo @ 12 psi.

Quote from: SiH;710794Mine lasted less than 6 months at 0.95 bar/360 ish atf, and they were pretty new.

400 will kill them. Fast.

as you have mentioned before SiH but theres loads of people running more boost than that and they last, im running 17psi/1.17bar and they are fine.

andysmee is running 390bhp on stock twins and has been for a long time.

I think yours just went bad ill be honest.

also ross at dragon was 400bhp on stock twins and had no problems at all.

i think 420bhp is the point when your pushing twins to far for them to last long term and its time to go single....this power is when your engines ported of course

SiH

EDITED as it\'s not worth it.
Dude, seriously- take a look at the advice some people in the UK are giving you. There\'s nothing wrong with trying new stuff, boundaries need to be pushed, and kudos for doing that, but by seemingly ignoring what everyone else says and telling them they are wrong, you are putting a lot of people\'s backs up, and burning some very useful bridges.

As soon as I went to 0.8 bar from 0.7 the primary oil seals went when I was running the stock twins..... they may take it for a while, they may not.

everyone bases things on there own experience, for you, they blow up at 360bhp, for others they are fine at 400bhp.

Sometimes its the luck of the draw, im sure if i asked people how long would stock twins last at 17psi they would say 1day yet ive been running them like that for a few of months, it can go either way.

all im saying is yes..get yourself a single turbo if you want but dont dismiss the potential power you can make on twins, because if you can hit 400bhp which people have then that surely is a big money saving

DRAGON

I used to run 1.4bar on my 99 spec twins. It was reasonably fast, building another 99 spec TT at the moment and tempted to do Pre turbo WI to raise comp map efficiency.

RIGHT guys hears my chance buying a turbo. iv decid\'d that am gonna do abit of track racing now,

there are two turbos for sale ;

bnr stage3 http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66541

or a to4e  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mazda-RX7-FD3S-HKS-TO4E-COMPLETE-Turbo-kit-/280558115923?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4152911c53
help me out lol:Hammer

suba

I can vouch for the condition of those BNR\'s as they came off my car - they are pretty much brand new.  :)

all the info you need to make a decision is here on this thread, I guess you could go and re-read it.:Thumbs-up

My advice would be not to feel pressured to buy either of those just because they happen to be available right now.  The TO4E could be overpriced at £1300 without clarification on the history: \'4000 miles in the UK\' could mean \'80000 miles in Japan\'.

It is also very much NOT a \'direct bolt on that will instantly give you a huge power increase\' - at a minimum you need a new map!

There is/was a TO4E for sale on here with most of the gubbins for £780 in the last few days, it had the wastegate plumbed back into the main exhaust rather than a screamer IIRC.

Turbo kits come up all the time - by all means buy one of these, but don\'t panic buy!

Good advice - as long as the manifolds and wastegate are in good condition if a journal bearing turbo needs a re-furb then it\'s not the end of the world in terms of money....if you can get a look at the kit before buying and also know the history, i.e. from MRC then it helps.

Another point that I missed is that a screamer pipe will fail the noise test at most tracks...:)

ok guys thanks for all the help, i\'v decid\'d to go with bnr stage 3 twins.

i had always wanted them soo badly on my old rexy neva made it lol then i can always up to a single if i wanted to.

next worri is hope yogibear sell\'s them to me lol.....

Suba sort it out dude put a word in for me they will be going to a good home.....

suba

Not sure that there is much I can do on that front!  At a grand they are certainly worth it.  When I got them form the US I ended up paying about £1800.:mmmm

PS - dont forget that I\'d recommend running them non-sequential for track stuff, but there\'s nothing from stopping you trying them both ways.

apart from getting another bill from pipe to do the work lol, if i get these turbos the celica gt4 gonna go up for sale to fund the project lol
