Not being happy with my aftermarket lights I\'ve wanted to replace with 99 spec versions that have the round break lights apposed to the early versions that are square an much less pleasing to the eye. I decided instead of forking out £100\'s to have ago at customising my original ones. Am documenting for anyone interested in doing the same!

To get the outside lense off you have to remove the six screws holding on the rear before using a heat gun as pictured to loosen the glue... Have patience with this bit it\'s prob the hardest part!

View of seam between front and rear, I used a screw driver to open up gentle applying heat at the same time.

An finally apart :)

The inner lenses are held with one screw each and clips the opposite sides, the clips also have glue so use heat again to ease out. Note the glue melts before plastic so go easy and should have no problems.

As im going to the trouble of doing this myself, i feel would be waste of an opportunity to simply mask three 3" circles to imitate the \'99 spec lights, I have a few ideas of what im going to do, however anyones input at this stage would be appreciated..?? :D

TBC......

I am currently toying with the idea of striping the brake lights whilst using a simple rotor design for the indicators, Im not sure i have seen this done plus dont see why all three shapes have to be the same??
Either way i have also decided not to mask and spray but to get the images cut professionally by a graphics company then overlaid, this im hoping will give a clean and more pro look....
Potential indicator design - might need a lil simplification

Carbon RX

A simplified rotor image i could use...

Some ideas (early) to which i could use, not sure im quite there yet!

you get the idea

Perhaps the simple rotor motif for all three lights and then some black film to black out the centres? I\'ve seen something similar to get the lights to have ring appearence rather than the solid circle and it looks very good.
Lil-Steve is.... loving it when a plan comes together.

Im aware that im by far NOT the first person to try this , however when finding information on how-to i couldnt get anything better than a descriptive list. It has been very helpfull getting them apart, but i think thats where things change for all.

Please link any previous works undertaken previously by anyone as i would appreciate the visual after effects etc to help aid my decision :god :Thumbs-up
