My best guess:  Dynamic Toe Steer System

(It\'s a passive rear steer mechanism based on a bush that flexes at a certain load point)  The idea is it throws you into a corner better, then the bush locks up to hold you on track.

Some folks hate it, but it works once you\'ve got used to it

anybody got pictues of how to attack these vushes / where they are?

i bought a FC.. which came with those bushes.. claimed to be solid Diff bushes.. but when fitting my solid engine and transmission mounts, i noticed the diff mounts were bigger...

so they are DTSS bushes, ill have a go at doing these tomorrow! need pics!

dthebuk

they\'re on the rear hubs. If you\'ve got something good at pulling bushes out you wont need to take the hub off. If you\'re using a vice or a press you will.

they\'re pretty tough to push in and out, but imo the hardest part is removing the hub

they are the ones, that have a rubber cap on arent they? inside the rubber cap, its filled with grease?

cheers

dthebuk

sounds about right. They have a bolt going through them that screws directly into the hub, there is no nut

reckon i could knock them out with a hammer and a socket? or even cut them apart with a hacksaw blade? and break them out?

cheers

dthebuk

hack saw? no idea how that\'d work.

hammer might do to get them out. Getting them in may be a struggle as you need to line them out, they\'re a very tight fit. If you can get you\'re hands on a vice, or use one at a garage, that\'d be the best way.

hack saw BLADE, to break the outside of the bush (metal part) .. i havent had a proper look yet.. sounds like fun though!

Would you be able to get out the old bush with an air chizzle? my mates got one at work and it works a treat on other bushes :)

that would be part of the hub? i think?

creech its a pretty normal bush so it should be fine. If the bush is very deteriorated it may be a struggle.

I vote a vice and some sockets, took me 5-10 minutes
