I did wonder that- I presumed the rounded edges were purely for the rubber insert?

For the record mazda use solid (non plastic/rubber) corner seals in the RX-8s, so in that sense they are proven.

Which bits wouldn\'t you recommend and why jon? Which edge are you referring to about being rounded? Cheers

Heres info on the corner seals I use off the Atkins site, it has the rounded edge to the slot

This was designed by David Atkins and has been patented. 2mm Solid Corner Seals. This is an excellent upgrade to any engine. These are desirable under high boost or nitrous applications. This is a one piece corner seal. Can be used in place of the 2 piece design with plug. Can be used with the wire type corner seal spring or the 93-95 HP wafer type spring. The 93 Style spring is recommended. Mazda basically copied our design with the Rx8, getting rid of their faulty rubber corner seal plug and opting for a steel one basically making their corner seals solid like these.

stick with mazda just like blitzy says -  no need to go with something that looks like a spring out of a Biro pen when OEM has been proven in engines makeing 700+hp

ive had a bad experience with hurley products and so has a mate back home in aus.. OEM all the way

To be fair, they do look like biro springs, but the stock ones look like random metal shavings from the floor of a machine shop- swings and roundabouts, lol.

But you are 100% right, the stocko springs are well proven.

I do like the solid corners mind, and ERC who originally built my engine used em, and the RX8 does too, so job done, mind made up I reckon.

Thanks all :)
