My rear brake pads are not long for this world, and from searching here and FDUK it looks like Black Diamond are the way to go.  I still have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with though.

  • Would anyone recommend other pads for road use? They have their share of spririted driving, but I want something that will work well at cold and not fade at speed. Also want to avoid as much squeak and dirt as possible. (Don\'t want much, do I? )
  • The front pads only went on about 4k ago so plenty left in them, but I\'ve no idea what they are. Is it advisable to replace these at the same time - Any thoughts on this?
  • Does anyone have a "How-to...", or idiots guide for replacing the pads?  - I\'ve searched but can\'t find anything.
  • I don\'t know when the fluid was last changed, should I do this too? - advice on fluid to use and a How-to would be much appreciated.
  • A list of tools required and a rough idea of how long to allow myself would also be damn handy to have before I start and then find out I\'m missing something.  :(

Or should I get someone competent to do this...?     :( :o

Any advice, thoughts, considerations, appreciated...
