hey all, well the story is quite simple so far, picked up this we number

(pic from my first drift outing and my first driftin :Giggle )

i added the alloys just (not that you can see them in the pic) i got the car as a poor runner, the man that owned it had checked everyting but gave it a service as it had sat inside for near 3 years since it was imported and had hardly moved. anyway it wasnt running on full boost so he said the last thing to look at was the rats nest so i took the chance. turned out that the service was all that was needed. the ignition leads were done and the spark plugs were black with white deposets but worse again they wernt even tight :S but all new stuff in and she came to life. now iv picked up some second hand koni suspension to stiffin her up a bit plus im about to do a poor mans non seq setup on her to. also gettin a spare steering rack to exparament with increasing the steering lock.

im now looking to know what other things i could do to help increse power and life of the car. one of the things that i was wondering about was if i was to rig the radiator fan to run full time though a switch plus (as silly as it mite sound) to add a fan to the front of the intercooler to increse the air cooling? o and iv done a bit of interor striping out too
cheers

Ive not had my FD long but ive been drifting for 2 years and already found alot of problems drifting one (defo not the best starter car)

First up its a rotary and it gets hot, drifting increases the heat due to you being on full load most of the track and if your not, your not being man enough!. So first upgrade is get an alloy rad

next up the AST black plastic box that holds water with pressure cap on, their made of plastic an crack quite easily... get yourself and alloy/metal one :)

then look into intercooler cooling for peace of mind... (V mount best choice IMO)

Then ive found the lock is Weak!!! Your best bet is to modify the hubs as lock to lock standard is alot of turns and the easiest was to make this less + increase the lock is to get some modified ones (not something id recommend doing yourself as its not just chop and weld...)

Next you\'ve already thought about the twin turbo squential setup isnt smooth enough to drift on and will make things difficult for yourself so look into either non squential or single turbo (single turbo costs more but will keep the heat down)

then the Diff. though the standard LSD isnt too bad if your serious about drifting nothing beats a welded diff or 2way

Next id say look into coilovers. stiff = more predictable difting

Thats it IMO all the exhaust and power hunting makes things easier but more power means you become lazy and dont learn proper drifting techniques such as weight transfer

Thats class man cheers. Iv seen a few threads the AST box so must look them up again. Even though I only had one day drifting I deffo notised the lock wasn\'t great but had notised this before on my good rex on the roundabouts :) will look into that bit more. As i can\'t really afford to through money into the car I picked up a set of second hand Koni adjustable suspension so that will help. And weight transfare is fun lol my handbrake didn\'t work so good so i had no choice but to learn it very quickly lol
Did you here any reviews about the v mount kits on eBay? Or build my own??
