What\'s your wife/gf/sister or daughter think about your FB hobby?

My gf ribs me every time she catches me on this site,i explain to her they don\'t make FB\'s anymore, she says, they stopped making it for a reason!

An RX7 to her is just like a washing machine, when it gets too old & it breaks, you bin it & get another car.

Every time i\'m on this site she goes corrrrrrrrrrrrrrr & does a 5 fingered knuckle shuffle in front of her crotch:xconfused

Last week she virtually passed out through hyper ventilation[uncontrollable laughter] when she saw me giving the FB twin chrome tailpipes a polish.

If i have to explain, they will never understand:rolleyes:

I\'m lucky in one way, the wife\'s a Petrolhead too. The FB is her car and in fact its registered in her name.
If I ever suggest a little shopping truck instead for Old Folks, (like an Alpha Mito perhaps), she goes mad.....\'You vill Keep Mein Gus Car on Ze Road at all Costs\' she commands.

But when it comes to computers and websites......Oh Different matter.....She hates computers and I feel guilt every time I log on. I don\'t feel like a wanxxer but I do worry that might be the impression that family and friends get from this \'obsessive behaviour\'....Blow \'em, as long as I go to sleep at night thinking about all sorts of FB\'s from all sorts of far flung places in Britain, I\'m staying put.

All men need a project. Vertical thinkers, problem solving is their big thing but they don\'t find it as easy to keep track of the bigger picture.  Women don\'t need projects - that\'s what they have the men for - and if you think about the purely functional properties of a car (the bigger picture) their approach is undeniably right.

The shoes and handbags ploy won\'t work because keeping those is cost neutral (assuming storage is free) and they do not deteriorate due to lack of use. Hands up anyone prepared to assert that is the case with FBs or any old car?

Face it, the stereotypes don\'t work...WE are the ones with soft, emotional, centres led by nostalgia and subjective, caring, whims to save old cars from the crusher. Women on the other hand are \'Hello\' reading, shoe-addicted, steel-cored, harpies who left to their own devices would all be driving something German that ran on ice-water and would, in the event of malfunction, self destruct having first filled an order for its own immediate replacement. (Malfunctions only being permitted within 25 metres of an outlet store selling Jimmy Choo\'s at knock down prices.)

I\'m sooooo lucky :D

Karissa is just as car crazy as I am...well, maybe not that bad, but you get the idea :)

We spend most weekends tinkering with cars, and most evenings sat together chatting and looking at the couple of forums we\'re on...which is especially good, \'cos it means the telly, and therefore big brother etc, stays off :D

Women,they will never understand?

No.

I think Jinx summed it up perfectly too be fair.

My wife has been in Nev once, said never again as it\'s way too noisy, the backfiring is embarassing and her cloths smelt of exhaust fumes.............................I said welcome too FB\'s baby:D:D:D:D:D

We should feel sorry for them I suppose.
Victims of their own genetic programming they\'ll never understand the joy of shed ownership either.

Damn straight:King

The lack of empathy when it comes to shed ownership is coupled with the refusal to acknowledge that, we do in fact need to own every different petrol engined garden tool available and a hedgetrimmer from Lidl\'s just don\'t cut it.

There was a distinct lack of empathy in that sigh....
