Good times, glad she seems sound!

A PFC would be a good move, especially if the exhaust is de-cetted. With filters on as well you really wanna get it mapped to suit as a priority. Try a gallooon of penetrating oil on the door lock/handles but if that doesn\'t work I\'d suggest getting into the mechanisms and strip, clean and lube, they\'re a notorious weak point for breaking/snapping keys and that\'d be bad. Unless you\'re any good at breaking in lol.

You can get touch-up paint for Montego Blue, but it\'s sh!te :(. I had a tube of it from a Mazda dealer for my old car, and it was nowhere near

Thanks for the tips.

I managed to finally get in/out of the car. It seems to be the lock swithces in the door cards not moving enough to open. When you put pressure on them, it finally unlocks.

So, put half a can of lube on the locks, handles in the door cards and it is ok for now, but still needs some persuation. When i get more time at the weekend i\'ll strip the doors down and re-lube everything inside too. At least it\'s not broken!

Only other thing i noticed wad that in the engine bay, there are 2 metal pipes that the HKS filters are attached to. About 10" up from the filers, there is a smaller pipe that joins it, using an L shaped metal plug. On one of the metal intake pipes, the pipe is connected, wherease on the second one, there is just a hole and a pipe, almost like the L shaped metal plug is missing.

I pressume something has been fitted in between this and removed? Can anyone advise what i need to replace it with, or whether i just need to buy the L shaped metal part to connect the rubber pipe to the metal intake pipe?

Also noticed there is no BOV (probably also removed) as there is a long rubber pipe coming from near the inlet all the way to the front of the car, with nothing attached. When revving, it blows air out. Am i correct?

Any advise welcome.

Thanks

Welcome aboard mate, It sound like a nice straight 7 when I got mine I broke all the rules didn\'t get a compression check or anything just fell in love with it as soon as I seen it. Drove it back from country durham then about a week later called in to WGT to check them out after reading info on here and FDUK about Pip. After dropping it off thinking he was going to give bad news check the compression and then the whole car over, After then called me after about 2 hrs with quite a long list brakes, suspension, exhaust compression fine and then did a full service.

I have used WGT loads of time even when the twins was not boosting right and both time he sorted it first was a broken wire in the loom second a vac pipe popped off, He could have so easy said the turbo\'s are shot and need replacing and would have never been non the wiser.

As for the FD yes they do cost a lot of money but the rewards you get from driving when its all working you will never stop smiling. :)

Enjoy the Rotary Fun.

Don\'t suppose anyone is located in South Manchester? Sale/Altrincham area?

If you are, i wouldn\'t mind someone having a quick check over the engine bay to make sure everything looks to be where it should be and maybe advise on what things i need to be buying?

I would drive to any local area but the car is not registered yet so it has no plates, MOT or docs!

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the club. Halfords mixed some touch up paint for my car (innocent blue ) which turned out to be a good match.

I will get a couple of pictures up after the weekend (when i\'ve cleaned it up, it\'s a mess!!) so you can see the engine bay and the parts that look to be missing.

Thanks

Damn, that\'s shiny! :mmmm I love Montego Blue (even if it\'s green lol). My first FD was Montego Blue and I still think it\'s the best colour. (though red is faster apparently :Giggle)
