Hi all
Can any one help me with my RX7 turbo convertible it’s a 1986 import it has 78000 on the clock and a full history  .it first started with the tick over, intermittently it just would not tick over then sometimes it became reluctant to start from hot now it will start first turn of the key when cold but as soon as it warms up it dies and is impossible to start until the engine is totally cold. When it is running it will tick over fine but when revved it wont hold steady and there is the occasional ticking/pinging noise from the engine. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Cheers john

with that sort of mileage it may be low compression,  have it compression tested and rebuilt if so before it goes pop and causes more damage.   There may be other problems but a comp test is the easy way to tell.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

If your compression is ok it may be time to check the spark plugs too.
They need to be replaced quite often, every 6000 miles roughly, but it depends what sort of driving you have been doing too.
Kind regards
Carl
