davehg and karl, press the button on the comp tester in and watch the pulses. three pulses on each rotor. you dont need fancy gear for rough on the driveway diagnosis, especially when the comp is that low.  sounded bad on idle like it had a miss fire and the revs would drop off every now and then. it was poor to start aswell. also the vacuum on idle wasnt great.  it boosted fine but didnt pull at all. fuel pressure was fine, all vac lines connected. which immediately points the finger towards compression.

rolley said that when he removed the plugs one of them was quite light in colour and had little bits of spatter on \' like welding spatter\' . so seems to me like its leened out and detted and it needs a rebuild.

anyone who has standard exhaust and wheels for px with 4" turbo back tiger system and 18" split rims with exellent tyres, theres also 3 head up displays measuring boost, volts and mph and revs and an apexi poweer fc and commander up fa grabs.

i sent you a text message about the pfc today. but you didnt get back to me.

davehg

to be honest you can tell by removing a plug if the comp is any good, the needle will flick so fast you would never get a propper reading but is ok for an estimate only as in this case with comp that low. I dont recall ever hearing of one with comp in the 3s without a chipped tip..... :spank
There are performance cars and then there is the RX-7...........

engine built by....... umm me! now powered by a T51 Kai......

im gonna pass on the pfc mate, but ill have the engine off you for spares.

just one question on the comp test. you did have the throttle fully open when you cranked the engine over didnt you? as that can affect the compression a lot.

666rex

did\'nt touch throttle at all mate just turned the key.

TRIND-FD

Take the valve out the comp tester, It will affect the reading. Should screw out.

keith.
V8 fd\'s rock :cool

rx jamie

do it again with the throttle open then mate, and as said instead of holding button remove valve on comptester.

666rex

will try that 2moro guys thanks:Hammer

rx jamie

how did the second comp test go?

Hello there, as I already have a pfc, any chance you can sell the commander on its own?
