Hi All,

I have just added a HKS Induction Kit to my 1999 RX7, i was left with 2 pipes which i was going to add Breather Filters to.

Why do i need to add a dump/blow off valve, when;

A, its dumping
B, it sounds like a dump valve.
C, what is the difference between a dump valve and a blow off valve.

is it ok to drive the car with breather filters on the 2 remaining pipes.

any advice would be great.

thanks Luke

Dump valve an BOV are the same thing :)

Are you still running the stock twin tubs? and if so, it sounds liek you may still have the stock BOV - have you got the valve that runs from, the part of the Y-pipe where it divides into 2?

I am still running the Stock Turbos, i have not looked at the Y-pipe is that near the turbos, is it still ok to drive if i have the Breather Filters added.

Will a HKS dump valve be better?

is there any point to add a dump valve?

thanks luke

EDIT: being an idiot, thought you were talking about something else.

there are two one way valves coming off of the y-pipe, one is the bov/dump valve and the other is the crv (charge relief valve). you should keep both really, although you can do without the bov. i just put breather filters on mine, like you said.

One thing you will notice is an anoying wooshing sound when you are cruising along. this is basicaly because the stock BOV doesn\'t seal untill you are making positive pressure in the inlet track. This is why I put an aftermarket BOV on as I got Peed off with the noise! But don\'t get a cheepy as I did...  lasted 7 months before the diaphram got blown to bits, then lashed out more money for a 2nd hand HKS one!!
