Koyo n-flow off eBay US- £280 delivered a few months ago including customs charges. Insane to pay £400 plus from the UK.

Don\'t waste your money on new fans either, stock ones are very good.

this.

a pair of decent fans will set you back £100+, you\'ll need to make a shroud (cable tying them to the back of the rad is lazy), chop up the loom a bit and there\'ll be no benefit over the standard fans.

Just got the radiator and ive noticed there no ast nipple on it.

I know how to do a removal and lucky for me my egi will be raided for the filer cap but what are the advantages or draw backs of not having an ast.

Ive heard that you can get super heated air pockets creating problems and causing your car to over heat.

Is it wise to remove the AST?

I dont run an AST anymore and havent had any issues with overheating, i see it now as one less thing to worry about.

Ive given mine some low speed thrashing around the b roads and also flat out runs along the motorway, never had any issues there.

The biggest issue was refilling back up with water after changing the rad, its  a nightmare, takes forever to burp the system, at one point i thought my waterpump at stopped working as it had that many air pockets!

cool, was a bit worried at first.

Well the job is done and ive no longer got an ast in the car but someone stole my antifreeze so filling the system will have to wait till morning.
