Re-using housings (ripples and flakes)

I bought a rebuild kit from ebay, included was supposed to be a good used rotor housing (receipt for 250 quid for the housing included) upon inspection of the housing i have found that
 
1) there is some chrome flaked off right at the bottom of the housing 1.5mm by 1cm ish
 
2) above the trailing spark plug hole about 4-6 inches or so the chrome has ripples (not chatter marks but accross the housing its-self can be felt when running finger accross.
 
what is your advice on re using this housing? abit miffed about it really

That housing is OK to use, its in average condition. The flaking is OK since it is a small patch, but the chatter marks mean it has some wear on there and it will just get worse over time.
 
If you dont want to use it I have a good housing for sale that is ported.

they are not chatter marks mate they are grooves in the housing in the direction of the rotor spinning. the other housing i have is mint this is noticably worse

sorry i know what you mean now, i suppose it depends how deep they are.  But it is on the compression stroke or just after the plug has fired, so you will lose some compression.

they feel deep and there are alot of them. right accross the housing

I have a shagged housing with the same, thats the rotor that went pop.

Yup its well shagged. the engine i have in my fd with blown water seals (500 miles on it 2nd hand) might have a good housing but i doubt it because of the seal failure. so looks like i need to buy another housing

who provides this service? heard that the results of this are not good. i have another block now so ill strip that and see what i have
