Subframe?

You don\'t need to touch the Subframe!
A Diff swap is fairly easy and straight foward.
Don\'t have time to explain but just jack up the a4se of the Car on Axle stands and dive under and you\'ll see pretty much what you need to do.

Word of warning, the Diff is rather Heavy, be carefull.

If its an FD you do not have to drop the subframe, take the exhaust off, ppf off, prop off, top and bottom hub bolts, pull out the drive shafts and then the two bolts holding the carrier at the top. Sounds worse than it is.
Might be better changing the fuel filter at the same time as its easy with the diff out.

Take the exhaust off then prop and drive shafts, then its basicaly ready to drop .  Get the back up on axle stands then just use the trolley jack take the weight of the diff while you undo the 2 diff mounts, lower it down, swap the diffs and refit in reverse order.
