thanks for all the info guys, im still very confused on what to do

im now thinking maybe get the intercooler anodized and spray paint the intercooler piping (depending on what colours i can get the anodizing in)

anyone got any links to any decent companies doing anodizing so i can send em an email with all my questions.

as for the ceramic coatings ive done a bit of reading up on them and im pretty sure (open to correction though) that they are best used as insulators or protective films from hot parts ie exhausts one f1 cars and coating downpipes and manifolds like heat wrapping them but gives a better performance.
something not best suited to an intercooler.

No - Nik, your completely correct in saying that about a ceramic coating, what I was saying is, that a company who does ceramic coatings, also do another product which works in the opposite way, its supposed to dissipate heat really well.

Quite a few cars have black intercoolers from the factory, R32 GTR included :)

Yeah, that\'s what I was trying to say, only I said it in stupid and you said it so people can understand :rollinThe guy I spoke to at Turbo Dynamics said a ceramic coated downpipe is so well insulated by the coating you can put your hand on it and not get burnt. I\'ll let you know if I ever get it nailed to the damn car and running :D

Give Camcoat a ring, they can explain what the different coatings can achieve. They can be put on alternate faces so so the heat dispersant on the side the air is flowing in and the reflective on the back side to heat reduce heat soak.

The Black satin doesn\'t work as well as the spiel, I wouldn\'t stick your hand on it. Although it does work and helps keep temps lower in the engine bay. You can\'t cover it over though after with things like wrap or beanies.
