Hi, went out yesterday and fitted my new coilovers which all went well. I also fitted a map sensor to try overcome my tick over problem, this did not work so will be looking for air leaks now, but when drove the car yesterday i pulled up and noticed that on tick over the speedo read 40mph and when i rev the speedo goes up with the rev counter, not sure where to start with this but guessing possible electrical failure. The only other thing i noticed is that my alarm been playing up but not sure if this is connected. I do think i need new battery as dont hold a charge but would this cause any issues,
Hope some one can help,

Thanks Dave.

Hey Dave,  check the basics first, there is a connector near the ECU, the bastid thing is tucked just up behind the Heater Matrix, you won\'t really see it but you can reach it if you ge right in the Passenger footwell.
Have a toggle on reconnect it.
Next to check is the connections behind the Clocks themselves.... this is not too bad a job, if you have not done it before, just be carefull of breaking the clips  trying to get the Cowl(top) panel off.

 Good Luck

Hi, i checked these out and all seemed fine but today the speedo has all been working, not to worry it cant be nothing serious lol

SO in fact there must of been a loose connection like I suggested?

(or was it 100% working again before you played with the connections?)

I started it to move out garage and just drove up road to turn round, let it tick over for a while (15 mins) just to observe dials all was well, i then checked all connections and they looked ok, fingers crossed that when checking them it may of tightened any loose connection, i ran car for further 10 mins with no movement, thanks for your help, if it does it again i will check connections again to see if they are loose,
Thanks Dave
